Quadrangle Cards Technique; a great use of your 6 X 6″ Designer Paper!

Check out this great template where you cut a 6 X 6" piece of Designer Paper into 4 pieces for 4 cards.  I also layered it with a 6 1/2" piece of card stock for easy borders!  Look!

I created the above cards with a sheet of the beautiful Plaid Tidings 6" DSP from the 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  I also used the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle and the two Daisy punches in the annual catalog.  Super easy cards!

The colors are Mango Melody, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.

Then I used a different sheet of the Plaid Tidings DSP on Facebook Live last week.  I LOVE Black & White with a pop of color so I added Magenta Madness and used the Zany Zebras stamp set seen here.

Aren't they fun?!  I wasn't sure if I wanted to add any pink to the zebras but I ended up loving it! I colored just a bit on the zebras with the Magenta Madness Blends marker.

If you're wondering just where this stamp set is, you can find it in the Beginner's Brochure or click here to see it online.

Below is my template for the Designer Paper.

Next you'll see how you can place the DSP pieces onto a piece of 6 1/2" square piece of card stock and get nice layers.

You can see how I did it in the video below.  Remember I host 6 FB Live's a week.  Every Tuesday at 11 am CT and the 2nd & 4th Monday's at 7:30 pm.  Check them out here.   Just click on 'more' and then 'videos'.

Tip: If you have trouble measuring things I suggest that once you have a template for both the Designer Paper and the layered card stock piece you save one to reuse over and over again.

I hope you like these cards!  Be sure to watch the video below to catch the tips & tricks on using this template.

Here's the FB Live replay for you.  Enjoy!

  • Grassy Grove dies make amazing cards quickly! Video too!

I was inspired to use the Grassy Grove bundle for a January card club project because of this card made by Deloris; one of my Flowerbug's Team members.

See what I mean?  It's striking & stunning!  She used Blackberry Bliss and that background is the amazing New Horizon 6 X 6" DSP seen here. Her greeting is stamped on a stitched rectangle die-cut on Fresh Freesia CS.

I changed the colors but still kept the large die-cut and the pretty paper the star of the card.

The die-cut is Black, cut at 5 1/8" X 3 7/8".  The New Horizons paper is cut just a hair smaller.  We simply added two of the deer in the Grassy Grove dies and a greeting on an Oval punched piece.

Scroll down to see the video I made or click here.

The card bases were either Soft Succulent or Misty Moonlight as that coordinated with most of the designer paper scenes.

Here is what the inside looks like.  We stamped the trees in the Grassy Grove stamp set in Black and added a greeting. This greeting is part of the Special Moments stamp set seen here (free during our Sale-a-Bration promo now)

Here are three of the cards all together.  See how the New Horizons designer paper can change the background scene so easily?  Everyone thought these made perfect masculine cards and sympathy cards as well.

Below is the quick video; click on the photo to watch it.

  • Fast but fabulous Flowing Flowers card kit to go with my Easy 8 Card Wonder template

I created these pretty cards on last week's FB Live.  I used the Flowing Flowers stamp set in a unique set of colors.

This stamp set was one of my top picks in the Spring catalog.  Not just because it's flowers, but because of the Distinktive images and pretty greetings.  Look!

Here's a link to the live video where I made a totally different set of cards using the same OSW template. I created it a few years ago and love trying it with different stamp sets.  I find it's a fabulous way to get beautiful cards made quickly without a lot of measuring.

**Did you know that my Team members get all of my tutorials free? They receive every single one I make – at least 3-5 a month! We met on Sunday night via Zoom and many of us used the Easy 8 Card Wonder to make our cards. So fun to visit while we stamped!!  Ask me about the Starter Kit deal & joining my Flowerbug's Team.

Here is the 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of basic White card stock that I stamped using the images in the Flowing Flowers stamp set.

I did do a little 'surgery' on one of the stamps (seen the flower in the first photo above).  I cut the leaves and the spatter part away from the main flower so I could stamp them in different colors.  I know I'll use this stamp so much more this way.  I used our Paper Snips to do it.  I encourage you to try this on your stamps; it's scary but so worth it!

Here is one of the cards made with my template. *These three pieces were cut on the printed lines on the reverse side. No measuring!!

You have a few choices if you want to make cards like these:

    • Get the template & PDF tutorial here in my Shop.  It's called the Easy 8 Card Wonder and includes directions for 4 different sets of cards & color combos.  $15 *Click here to see my other OSW's. Plus once you purchase it, you will get an email every time I update the tutorial with new color combos & stamp sets!
    • Reserve a pre-cut kit to go by Feb 15th.  Contact me here.  I'll send you a PayPal invoice for it all. The kits are sent out at the end of February via Priority Mail. It's $46 with shipping.

    The Kit to go includes:

    • the Flowing Flowers 9 piece stamp set
    • a printed template on 8 1/2" X 11" Basic White CS
    • pre-cut & punched pieces for all 8 cards
    • the free PDF tutorial sent in an email
    • You will need your own ink (I used Navy, Daffodil, Bermuda Bay & Coastal Cabana), adhesives & gems.

You can see the video here where I show how the template is used.  I created a different group of cards using this Easy 8 Card Wonder template.

  • Masterful Monochromatic Floral Swap cards by my Flowerbugs

Today is the last of the pretty monochromatic cards my Flowerbug's gals made for our January swap.  The theme was a challenge for some but others found it easy.  Have you made a monochromatic card before?  If not try it!

This first card was made by Tracey using the Meadow dies in Blushing Bride & White.

There are so many beautiful details!

    • All of these flowers, butterfly & greeting dies are from the Meadow dies seen here.  They're cut from White, Bushing Bride & Vellum CS
    • The texture is from the Bark 3D embossing folder seen here.
    • She sponged on one of the die-cuts and the textured piece too.
    • The greeting is heat embossed using White embossing powder

Next is a card made by Ginny using the Color & Contour bundle seen here.  She chose to use the In Color Pale Papaya.

The designer paper is from our 6 X 6" In Color assorted DSP pack seen here.  Did you know we have patterned paper in each of our Stampin' Up! colors!  I love how easy it is to coordinate our products with our color line.  It just makes me happy!

Next is a card Candace made using the new Sale-a-Bration free bundle called Friendly Hello seen here.

    Here are the details:

    • Her colors are Blushing Bride & Flirty Flamingo. She stamped her flowers on both the greeting circle and the Blushing Bride card base.
    • She used the Basic Border dies to trim off the front edge for a stitched detail.
    • The striped DSP is on the inside of the card.  It's from the Host Pattern Party DSP
    • She textured the larger circle with the new Gingham embossing folder.
    • The ribbon is our new Frayed White ribbon in the Jan-June catalog.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my talented Flowerbug's Team swaps this month.  I love seeing their style & what they create for our optional swaps.

If you've ever thought about joining Stampin' Up! I hope you'll consider getting the Starter Kit and joining my Team.  We have a wonderful group that is kind, creative & awesome in every way! Our Team FB group is super active with shares, optional challenges, prizes, online meetings & so much more.
