Regency Park with the Baby Wipe technique!

During March our Flowerbug's Team has been focusing on using re-inkers.  I hadn't played with the 'baby wipe' technique for awhile.  I chose the Regency Park suite when creating this cute card:

It might not show up well here but the White greeting die-cut is 'caught' and held in place by the larger die & the outer two corners of flowers. These dies fit together perfectly!  *you can see the dies in the photo below; the bottom most label nestles into the largest one with flowers on two edges.

Here's the Sentimental Park bundle as well, with the greeting & die-cuts. This bundle was one of my first purchases from the Spring catalog and I've used it a lot!

The other bundle in this suite is the Petal Park bundle seen here. It includes the stamp set & coordinating flower punch. I used the solid flowers on the middle right for my baby wipe technique and added the outline flowers (top right) in Black.

I had a die-cut dotted background piece (from Dots & Spots here) among my 'extra's and thought it would work well for my background.

What supplies do you need for the Baby Wipe technique?

  1. A baby wipe or two
  2. At least 2-3 colors of ink refills
  3. A stamp and card stock

Success tips for the 'Baby Wipe' technique:

  • Choose colors that work well together.  I tend to choose 3 of my favorites like yellows with pinks, blues with greens, purples with blues etc.
  • Pick a stamp with a solid image; lots of rubber.  An outline image will not show your colors well.
  • Fold the moist baby wipe into an ink pad; I use at least 4 layers.
  • Drop multiple drops of each color in each area. For example – 4 drops of yellow, move over a bit, 4 more drops of yellow etc.  Then fill with the second color in the same manner. Fill in any empty areas with the 3rd or last color.
  • When inking your image stamp it in your 'baby wipe' handmade ink pad multiple times, trying to keep it in the same place as much as possible. Moving the image around too much can muddy your colors.
  • Huff the image and stamp!

Here's the inside of my card; I added a few more of the multi-colored punched flowers.

My colors include Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.

  • Quick Card template & cute Christmas treats & snowman tags

I shared a ton of Holiday projects on this week's FB Live.  You can see the video below but here are the projects:

I used the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP here along with Very Vanilla, Navy, Brass foil and Peacock CS.  This pretty paper is on sale at 50% off!  See it here.

This is one of the easiest layouts you can make that still has some layers to it.  I like the card below best since you can stamp directly on the single layer and do not need a second greeting piece to stamp on like the cards on the left & right above.  Measurements below:

    Easy Christmas card

    • Main card – 8 ½” X 5 ½” or 4 ¼” X 11”, DSP – 3” square
    • CS – 4 ¼” X 3 ¼”, Vanilla greeting layer is 7/8" X 3", Foil strip – ½” X 4”

Next I have a super cute candy box treat made by my friend Marilyn.  She used the Celebration Label dies; they're 50% off now while supplies last!  See them here.

    Celebration Labels Treat box

    • Use the largest 2 dies.  Center the CS die-cut at 6”; score at 5 3/8” and 6 5/8”
    • Box is 2 3/8” X 5 1/8” scored at ½” on each edge

Next is a fun candy bar pull up treat.  I love making these since they're so quick & easy.

    Santa Pull Up Treat
    Red CS 6 1/2" X 7" score at 3/8", 3/4", 3 1/2" and 3 7/8".
    Black glitter belt 1" X 7"

This candy bar is in a thin card board box so I had to score it.  Usually I just wrap the card stock around the candy bar and glue the edge overlapping each other.  That one is a lot quicker.

Lastly is a sweet snowman tag.

It's a piece of Snowflake Splendor DSP and White CS both measuring 4 1/2" X 2" and tied together at the top.  I used the Delightful Tag Topper & 2" circle punches here. The stitched nose is made with the Triangle dies.  I drew Black 'stones' with a marker for his smile.

Below you can get the tips on putting these projects together.  Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel here.

  • What? Whisper White card stock is discontinued! Snowflake Splendor card & bookmark in a pocket

Sad news!  Here's a message from Stampin' Up! regarding our favorite White card stock:

We are sad to announce that the supplier’s mill producing our Whisper White cardstock has permanently closed due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, we weren’t given much notice on this closure. This means that the technology unique to this particular supplier is now unavailable to us and we can no longer offer our Whisper White cardstock and related products, such as Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. Please note that this won’t affect any of our other cardstocks, this only affects Whisper White.

We know Whisper White has a huge fan base; we’re big fans, too! And we are crushed that it’s going away. Even though this decision was out of our hands, rest assured that we jumped right into action to find the best replacement paper possible. We have dedicated many hours to source and test alternative cardstock options from several suppliers to find the perfect fit that still maintains the Stampin’ Up! quality you know and trust. We are happy to share that we have found a winner for our new cardstock, Basic White!

Our new Basic White products will become available to purchase as soon as we have them in stock. Additionally, due to the nature of sourcing, some Basic White products may not be available before the Whisper White products sell out. Please know that we are working on getting these products available to you as fast as possible.

Below is a list of all products that will be replaced with our new Basic White cardstock. These items are now available while supplies last with an order limit of 2 per item per order.

    • Whisper White 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Cardstock (124302)
    • Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes (149710)

Here's a few sparkly projects featuring the Snowflake Splendor designer paper.  I think I could play with this for the next few months!  Here in ND we're usually in snow through March for sure and usually into April.

For this card I simply cut a few snowflakes from the White panel and adhered it to the designer paper with Dimensionals.  The greeting is heat embossed using White powder on a Highland Heather Stitched Nested Label and a swirl of Iridescent ribbon is added behind it.

This pretty paper is on the Closeout Sale happening now here.  It's 30% off while supplies last.  The Snowflake Wishes bundle is returning next year; I've used it a ton!

Today is the last day to get my Snowflake Splendor kit to go.  It includes these same products: a half pkg. of this pretty paper, Iridescent ribbon and the pretty blue faceted gems plus 10 pre-cut fun fold cards.  That's $20 in product AND the 10 pre-cut cards for just $28.  Go here to get yours.    Or get the tutorial here.

Here are the directions for the bookmark pocket:

    • Start with a 6” square for bookmark pocket; score lightly at 3”
    • Fold the Designer Paper in half at the 3” mark.  Then fold down the upper corner and glue down.
    • Use Stampin’ Seal on the lower and right side edges to close the pocket.
    • Punch the ends of the Highland Heather strip (1 ¼” X 8”, scored at 4)  and adhere across the lower middle.
    • Stamp the greeting in Pacific Point ink onto the White Nested label die-cut (1 ½” X 2 ¾” finished size). Add with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Add a few White snowflakes with Multipurpose Glue. Add a few Blue Gems.
    • Stamp the greeting on the Bookmark using Pacific Point ink.  Add some snowflakes in Highland Heather ink, stamping off first for a lighter hue
    • Punch the upper end with the Fancy Tag Topper punch. Fold a 6” length of ribbon in half and insert the folded end in the front and pull the tails through the loop.  Tighten carefully, one end at a time.
