Regency Park with the Baby Wipe technique!

During March our Flowerbug's Team has been focusing on using re-inkers.  I hadn't played with the 'baby wipe' technique for awhile.  I chose the Regency Park suite when creating this cute card:

It might not show up well here but the White greeting die-cut is 'caught' and held in place by the larger die & the outer two corners of flowers. These dies fit together perfectly!  *you can see the dies in the photo below; the bottom most label nestles into the largest one with flowers on two edges.

Here's the Sentimental Park bundle as well, with the greeting & die-cuts. This bundle was one of my first purchases from the Spring catalog and I've used it a lot!

The other bundle in this suite is the Petal Park bundle seen here. It includes the stamp set & coordinating flower punch. I used the solid flowers on the middle right for my baby wipe technique and added the outline flowers (top right) in Black.

I had a die-cut dotted background piece (from Dots & Spots here) among my 'extra's and thought it would work well for my background.

What supplies do you need for the Baby Wipe technique?

  1. A baby wipe or two
  2. At least 2-3 colors of ink refills
  3. A stamp and card stock

Success tips for the 'Baby Wipe' technique:

  • Choose colors that work well together.  I tend to choose 3 of my favorites like yellows with pinks, blues with greens, purples with blues etc.
  • Pick a stamp with a solid image; lots of rubber.  An outline image will not show your colors well.
  • Fold the moist baby wipe into an ink pad; I use at least 4 layers.
  • Drop multiple drops of each color in each area. For example – 4 drops of yellow, move over a bit, 4 more drops of yellow etc.  Then fill with the second color in the same manner. Fill in any empty areas with the 3rd or last color.
  • When inking your image stamp it in your 'baby wipe' handmade ink pad multiple times, trying to keep it in the same place as much as possible. Moving the image around too much can muddy your colors.
  • Huff the image and stamp!

Here's the inside of my card; I added a few more of the multi-colored punched flowers.

My colors include Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.

  • Daisy Garden stamp for easy cards!

I had time to play with this pretty Daisy Garden background stamp and created this summery card:

I stamped the image in Polished Pink ink onto a panel of 3 3/4" X 5 1/4" White card stock.  I colored it in with blends markers in Polished Pink and Granny Apple Green.  I did add a bit of yellow to the daisy centers with a sponge dauber. I colored the White ribbon with the light Polished Pink Blends marker before tying a bow.

Next I cut the White CS into three panels measuring 1 1/4" wide before I adhered them to the main card.

The 'thanks' greeting is from the Artistically Inked stamp set.  It's stamped onto one of the die-cuts in the Picture This die set seen here.  I love that you get multiple quick 'stitched' die-cuts from just one cut.  They're great for windows or greeting dies and with just one cut and you can use the window of the die-cuts!

  • Want to make a Bay Window card? It’s easy! Stamp with Me Live tonight at 7:30 pm CT!

Tonight on my Stamp with Me Live we're making 'Bay Window' cards.  These are so fun and actually quite simple to make.  Scroll down to see the measurements.

You can watch the video here on my Facebook page.  If you're not on FB you can see it later when I upload it to my YouTube channel here.  *Don't forget to follow me!

It starts out with a standard 4 1/4" X 11" piece of card stock. Add some scored lines and designer paper and you're halfway there!

For this first example I chose to use the Plentiful Plants bundle.  The Bloom Where You're Planted designer paper is on sale in July. You can see it here.

I used the Everyday Label punch for the greetings here.  There's an easy way to create a curved edge and a perfect layer.  Watch tonight to see how.

Here's the second version I made with the Beauty of the Earth designer paper.  It's also on sale too!

I used the same stamp set; Plentiful Plants for the greeting.  I did add a few pieces of the In Good Taste DSP here for the wood paper.  It works so well for nature themed cards.

    Here's the video!

    Bay Window Cards Measurements:

    • Card base – 4 1/4" x 11". Score on long side at 3/8", 1 7/8", 3 5/8", 5 1/8", 5 1/2"
    • 1st DSP – 4 1/8" x 6". Cut in order at 1 3/8", 1 5/8", 1 3/8", 1 5/8"
    • 2nd DSP – 3 strips at ¼” X 4 1/8”
    • White inside 34 1/8” X 3 ¼”
