Hippest Hippos; lots of creative ideas for you!

Today I'm sharing some wonderful swap cards I received from other talented Demonstrators – all featuring the Hippest Hippos stamp set & Hippo dies.  They're both free with any $50 Stampin' Up! order during July & August.

But remember these Sale-a-Bration items are only available while supplies last.  Already they are out of TWO choices in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  The Rings of Love 12" DSP and the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam cards & envelopes.  So if you have something from the SAB catalog on your wish list; get it soon!

What an amazing scene Amanda created here!  So many details!  I especially appreciate that she colored her hippo in Pool Party; who says they have to be gray?

Her background is made with the Rays of Light stamp seen here.  The rest is all Sale-a-Bration items.  Her colors include Pool Party, White, Crumb Cake & Crushed Curry

She stamped the greeting from Amazing Phrases and fussy cut it, placing it between 'waves'. She added Wink of Stella to her water.  The little splashes of water & the life preserver truly make this scene complete!

One of my favorites was made by Gwen.  The way she added ribbon for a 'towel' on the silver/metal tub is genius!!

~~~
Kelly created a cute scene mostly with the Hippo dies.  Her colors are Smoky Slate, Real Red & Balmy Blue.  The little water splash die-cuts add motion to the scene!
Mary, one of my Flowerbug team members, made this cute card for her Card Club this month. She used a blending Brush with Flirty Flamingo ink for a soft background.  The lights and bow at the top are from the Tree Lot dies in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  See them here.
This cute card was made by Amy Storrie.  I love the sunglasses!  The other neat thing she did was to use the Hippo dies along with the Stitched Circle in the Beautiful Shapes dies so they match up perfectly!  Her Designer Paper is the Cottage Gingham in the Holiday catalog.
You can see the Hippest Hippos stamp set here and the Hippo dies here.  Get them both free with a $100 online order and you'll also receive my free July cards kit!  Offer good through Saturday, July 30th.
Get a free card class in the mail with a $55 order from July 1-30th.
  • Sunshine & Rainbows Bridge Fun Fold cards – Live video tonight!!
    We're making these bright & happy Fun Fold cards tonight during Stamp with Me Live.  Gather your supplies & stamp along with me!  It's tonight, Monday January 24th at 7:30 pm CT.  click here to join in or to watch.
    The Sunshine & Rainbows DSP is one of the happiest group of papers I've seen in awhile.  It's 6 X 6" in size and one of the free choices during our Sale-a-Bration promotion through February 28th.  It's free with any $50 order; see it here. Pair it with the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle (seen here) to add additional patterns and rainbow-themed greetings.
    Every few weeks on Monday nights I host a Stamp with Me Live where you can stamp along with me, using whatever products you already own.  *I share the products & measurements 2 days before the Live on my FB Page. (see them below)
    Did you know there are prizes?? After the video I post a 'Let's Share' post where you can share a photo of your cards.  Ikeep it open for 2 weeks & draw a door prize among those posted.
    Here are both versions I made:
    Here are the measurements & supplies needed:
    – Card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"; scored at 4 1/4". We'll cut the sides during the Live. Have your paper cutter handy.
    – DSP – 2 pieces at 7/8" X 4", 1 piece at 3" X 4" (I used Sunshine & Rainbows Sale-a-Bration)
    – 1 or 2 pieces of CS for the horizontal piece – 1 1/8" X 5 1/2" & 1" X 5 1/2"
    – punches or dies for greetings/accents
    – Stamps & ink (Special Moments SAB stamp set & Navy ink)
    I hope you join me!  For those who are not on Facebook the video will be posted later.  Or see it on my YouTube channel later this week.
    Details:
    • I used the new Brilliant Rainbow dies for that colorful rainbow.  It is cut out of this Sunshine & Rainbows DSP!  It coordinates wonderfully!
    • I stamped the greeting from the Special Moments stamp set (Free during SAB) on our new Cloud Punch.
  • 3 completely different cards with the Friendly Hello bundle; WOW!
    Our Sale-a-Bration promotion is everyone's favorite time of year; who doesn't love to get something free?!
    This year our product line includes a stamp set & 12 X 12" designer paper combo called Friendly Hello.  I love both the stamps and the DSP.  The stamps include floral, botanical and greeting images and the paper can be either soft & pretty or bright & eye catching!
    Look at these three extremely different cards all featuring the same stamps & DSP:
    This card is one I made for an online swap I participated in.  I chose to use the Granny Apple Green sheet of DSP and paired it with Black & White. It's a simple layout that really shows off the colors & products.
    Details:
    • The greeting is stamped onto a die-cut from the Hippo & Friends die.
    • That delicate leaf die-cut is from the Tropical Layers dies in the Jan-June catalog.
    • The butterfly is from the Catching Butterflies Sale-a-Bration stamp set.
    Next is a pretty swap Ginny made but so much softer in colors.
    She covered the entire card front with her Designer Paper and added a banner from another sheet of the DSP under the main White scalloped piece.  She stamped in Gray Granite and colored in the bird & flowers with Blends markers.
    Lastly today is another card I made for a swap.  I paired the Pool Party sheet of this Designer Paper with Early Espresso.  I've always loved these colors together.  I stamped the flowers in Early Espresso ink onto our Vellum card stock and immediately heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Yes you CAN emboss with our Classic ink pads!
    I textured the Pool Party card stock with the new Gingham embossing folder and rounded the upper right corner.  I also cut our new frayed 3/4" White ribbon in half lengthwise and wrapped it round the left edge of the card stock.
    Thanks so much for stopping in to see my projects today!  If you want to get this pretty pack of Designer Paper & the Friendly Hello stamp set click here to see it.  It's free with any $100 purchase right now!
  • Pretty Botanical swap cards; all Monochromatic!
    This week I'm showcasing my talented Flowerbug's Team swaps with their monochromatic cards.
    First up is Karen's card; she used the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set; seen here in the new Jan-June catalog.
    She stamped the floral image three times on her White CS using Evening Evergreen ink.  The last one is stamped on Vellum and fussy cut.  She added a double tag die-cut from the Tailored Tags dies along with a bow in Soft Succulent ribbon.
    Next is a pretty card in Fresh Freesia made by Paula S.  She used a favorite stamp set of mine; the Queen Anne's Lace stamp set, along with some sponging and distressing of the edges.
    Our In Color sheer ribbon is wonderful; easy to work with, soft & lovely!
    Next is a pretty & very detailed card made by Sharon.  She used Soft Succulent with Evening Evergreen and the Ever Eden specialty designer paper.
    She created double stitched window frames with the Stitched Rectangle dies. They're adhered over a scalloped rectangle made with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  Her leaves are die-cut from our Shimmer In Color Vellum using the Forever Flourishing dies.  The greeting is from the Prized Peony stamp set.
    Stop in for more Monochromatic card swaps tomorrow!
