Fun 4-Way Split Angled card idea; Live video tonight!

We're making these fun but easy cards on tonight's Facebook Live.  It's at 7:30 pm CT here.  I hope you can join me!  If not it will be added to my YouTube channel here as well.  *Be sure to follow me on FB so you won't miss these lives!

Every 2nd & 4th Monday night's I host a 'Stamp with Me' live on Facebook where we create striking cards using Designer Paper or a fun technique.  If you're new to stamping you'll become more comfortable and efficient at it.  If you're a seasoned stamper you'll still enjoy it and get new ideas to create.

Tonight I'll share a version of this card; I'm calling it a 4-way Split Angled card.

The card above features the Abstract Beauty specialty designer paper in the 2022 January-June catalog by Stampin' Up!  It has splashes of color along with gold highlights.  See it here.

If you want to make one of these you'll need card bases, DSP or stamps & ink and a greeting or die-cut like I used here.

  • card base 4 1/4" X 11" scored in half at 5 1/2"
  • Colored layer 4" X 5 1/4"
  • DSP or stamped layer 3 3/4" X 5" (for a wider split use 3 1/2" X 4 3/4")

The Amazing Thanks dies have quickly become a favorite of mine.  See those here.

The next example uses the Flowing Flowers stamp set in Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.  I stamped the images before I cut them in 4 pieces.

You might wonder – 'how do you cut these into 4 angled pieces?'  Honestly I cut from the top to the bottom first, just estimating my angled cut. Then I held the two pieces back together and cut from the bottom left to the right side.

It does not have to be perfect!  Honestly; just wing it; I dare you to do this without measuring.

  • The pretty Citrus Blooms dies

While I was creating for my Live video projects I wanted to show off the pretty Citrus Blooms dies.

The colors include Night of Navy, White & Old Olive.  I added a small strip of the Mediterranean Blooms DSP under the Greeting of the Season white die-cut label.  See these dies here; you will love them!

You can see the two Citrus Bloom dies I used to create this White & Olive frame in the photo below.  I like that stitched die a lot; it can be used alone or with this leafy die. See the Citrus Bloom dies here.

Below is a video where I share a few more ideas for the Mediterranean Blooms DSP.

  • You’ll love this easy sketch idea for a quick & pretty card

On last week's Live video I focused on the pretty Mediterranean Blooms designer paper and this pretty color combination:

My colors include Lemon Lolly, Night of Navy, White & a touch of green in the pretty Mediterranean Blooms DSP.  It's on sale for a few more days! See it here.

    The card base is 4 1/4"X 11" scored at 5 1/2". The Lemon Lolly is 4" X 5 1/4", DSP is 2" X 5 1/4", Navy strip 1/4" X 5 1/4"

Each month in my Flowerbug's Team we have an optional challenge that features a sketch of color combination. This is the current sketch and it inspired me to create this pretty card.

Card sketches are drawings or images that can help inspire your creativity. They're a starting point. Use the basic design and change it any way you'd like.

The greeting is from the Nested Essential dies seen here.  The pretty embossing folder on the Lemon Lolly layer is called Dashing Designs and can be seen here.

Below is a video where I share a few more ideas for this DSP and the Citrus Blooms dies.

  • A Pretty Diamond Fold card with free project sheet & video tutorial

This card fold looks a bit tricky but it is super easy to make!

It features the beautiful Mediterranean Blooms designer paper. My colors include Lemon Lolly, Night of Navy & White.

    This card starts out at 11" X 4 1/4"; score at 5 1/2" & 8 7/8".

How did I get that square to pop up on the end?  Watch the video to see!  But basically you trim off the outer corners from the scored and folded end.

I fussy cut the lemon bunch from the designer paper. The Citrus Blooms bundle coordinates with this pretty DSP but I didn't use them here.  The greetings are from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set.

    Here's the inside view:

I created a free project sheet for this card; click on this link to download or print it: Download Mediterranean Blooms Diamond Flap fold
