Control Freak’s Blog Hop; Favorite Colors theme!

Welcome to the January Blog Hop from our talented Control Freaks group! Our theme this month is to use our favorite Stampin' Up! color and make it monochromatic!

If you just stopped in from Wendy's blog I'm sure you enjoyed her projects. She is super creative!

I haven't joined a blog hop in awhile and I've missed it! This color theme was perfect for me as my Flowerbug's Team swapped monochromatic cards last week. I've been sharing them here all week long.

My first card features a new stamp set called Crane of Fortune.

I chose to feature Misty Moonlight with Night of Navy & White. The Crane of Fortune stamp set is new in our Stampin' Up! January-June catalog. It's a Distinktive stamp set which means you get multiple hues of color with one inking. These are my favorite type of stamps. Look how pretty the images are in one color and so easy too!

After I stamped the crane I textured it with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

This card is a very simple fun fold. Here are the measurements:

Score your 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
Misty Moonlight layer 1 7/8" X 5 1/4"
White layers are 3 1/4" X 4 1/2"
Navy layer is 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"

I stamped some of the dragonflies on the front layer of Misty Moonlight. I used White Craft ink for a soft, subtle effect. As you can see I made quite a few of them for our Team swap!

Next is a pretty card in Soft Succulent & White.

I used the new Artfully Layered stamp set along with the Stitched Rectangle dies. This technique is called Triple Time Stamping.

To achieve this layered effect I stamped all three of the White layers at the same time. Then you adhere each piece to a Soft Succulent layer and put the pieces back together; almost like a puzzle. It's a great way to create quick, eye catching cards.

Measurements:

Soft Succulent – 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base, 4 1/8" X 2 7/8" & 3" X 1 5/8"
White – 5 1/4" X 4", 4" X 2 5/8" & 2 3/4" X 1 3/8"

Country Wreaths & Christmas Barn card ideas by the Flowerbug’s

This week I've been proud to share my Team Christmas card swaps from our October swap event. I am thrilled with the quality of our swaps each and every month!

Today's projects feature some pretty bundles in the 2022 Holiday catalog by Stampin' Up! First is a fabulous card by Candy with the Cottage Wreaths bundle.

Her colors include Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, White & Crumb Cake.

Details:
- It's an easy fun fold card; she trimmed off 1" on the right side of her card front to reveal the Lights Aglow DSP on the inside edge.
- She textured the Crumb Cake layer with the Timber 3D embossing folder.
- Silver 3/8" edge ribbon and Festive Pearls are the embellishments

Next is a book binding fun fold card by Mary; she also featured the Country Wreaths bundle.

A book binding card is made by adding an extra score line to your 4 1/4" X 11" card. Score at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2".

The DSP layers are 3/4" X 3 7/8" and 3 7/8" square. Red layers are 7/8" X 4" and 4" square.

She used the Gingham Cottage DSP on her card front and Real Red & Garden Green card stock.

Lastly today is a beautiful scene made by Roxann with the Christmas Barn bundle seen here.

Her colors include Cherry Cobbler, White & Mossy Meadow. She used Blends markers to color the images and our new Very Best Trio tag punch on the corners.

Merriest Moments & Spruced Up Christmas card ideas

This week it's all about sharing October's Team swaps with a Christmas theme. I know you love seeing what they make as much as I do!

First is a gorgeous card made by Kim with the Merriest Moments stamp set & Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder. These products were a bundle in last year's Holiday catalog, but this year they are offered separately.

She used Starry Sky and White card stock with beautiful Silver embossing on the greeting and some of our gorgeous Silver mesh ribbon under the center panel.

Next up Paula used the same dies and stamp set, plus she added the Christmas Banners bundle to it as well.

Her colors are Real Red with Garden Green & White.

She turned it into a fun fold too but scoring the front panel one extra time at 2 1/8". Look closely at the many die-cuts she has here!

Next is a beautiful card made by Brenda in blues & white with lots of layers.

She used the Spruced Up bundle seen here for the trees with lots more product as well.

Details:
- Twigs & Springs embossing folder for the large White layer (seen in the annual catalog here)
- She embossed her Vellum card stock with the Wintry 3D embossing folder
- The DSP is the Storybook Gnomes seen here
- That iridescent Snowflake is from the Wonderful Snowflakes seen here; all cut & ready for you & a great value!

Look at these amazing WOW Christmas swaps!

You'll be amazed by the talent in these Christmas swap cards by my Flowerbug's Team. They knocked it out of the park this month!

Sharon featured the Sweetest Christmas suite on her beautiful card. I love the clean white background that shows off the gorgeous die-cuts!

The peek of Red glimmer paper adds a perfect sparkle to her card.  Here's the inside view:

Adding a strip of designer paper to the inside of your card is a simple way to embellish it to match.

Next is a gorgeous card by Karen featuring the Decorating with Happiness bundle seen here:

Her card is mostly White with Cherry Cobbler, Evergreen & Gold accents.

Details:
- She cut the large pine die from both Evergreen & Gold glimmer paper and added them off set from each other.
- The greeting die is from the Stylish Shapes dies and the embossing folder is Timber 3D.
- The pretty DSP is the Lights Aglow specialty DSP seen here.
- Elegant Metallic cord and Festive Pearls are the additional embellishments.

And next is another stunning card made by Tracey; this time with Silver accents. She used White, Real Red and Black as her elegant color combination.

Details:
- the White layers are from the Chic and Painted Label dies; the Silver is the Stylish Shapes die, embossed with the Wintry 3D folder.
- The gorgeous specialty black & Silver paper is called Metallic & Shimmer specialty paper; see it here.
- She embossed the greeting in clear (or silver?) embossing powder on Silver paper!
