3 remarkable card ideas with the Mountain Air bundle

Continuing my Masculine swap share this week all of today's cards feature the Mountain Air stamp set seen here & Majestic Mountain dies seen here.  My Flowerbug's Team did an incredible job on their swaps; I hope you've been enjoying the ideas.

First is a clever card made by Jacki.  She created quite the special camping scene!

Her colors include Evening Evergreen, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & black with a bit of yellow on the camper.

That adorable camper is from the Tree Lot dies – one of the Sale-a-Bration choices in July & August.  See it here.  It's free with any $100 Stampin' UP! order.  *Remember that our Sale-a-Bration items are while supplies last…..

She masked her mountains and blended on a pretty skyline in blue & purple.

Did you catch the 'curtain' in the camper?  That's our Black & White gingham ribbon!!  And the hitch is done in Silver foil.

Next is another special card made by Tracey.  I really like how she created a smaller scene than we usually do; almost like a picture in a frame.  Out of the box thinking!

Her colors are Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pacific Point & Early Espresso.  Stamping the greeting repeatedly on a strip is another unique way to add a greeting but not a separate greeting image.

She colored her stamp with markers to get the blue water on the same stamp as the small trees.  She masked the trees and stamped a 2nd time to get more water.  So smart!

Next is my card.  I wanted to do a 'Triptych' card – this is where you have three separate panels creating a scene.

Details:

  • I stamped the mountain & trees images all on one piece of White CS using the Stamparatus. It measured 4 1/2" X 3 1/4" and after stamping they are cut to 1 1/2" wide.
  • I used Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent & Gray Granite ink.  I stamped the same 'tree' image a second time in Soft Succulent, but I moved the card stock up and over a bit so it wasn't directly above the first set.
  • I sponged Evening Evergreen on the bottom and Balmy blue on the top, masking the mountains a bit so they stayed white.
  • The large White layer is 5 1/4" X 4" and is textured with the Timber 3D embossing folder.

Here's the Mountain Air stamp set; as you can see it is a scene builder set which is a favorite type of set for me. This one is special because it's a reversible set which means one side features a silhouette and the other side is a detailed image. Fun & versatile!

Cards for men can be hard for some of us to make so I hope you're enjoying the 'manly' cards I'm sharing all this week!

  • Split Front card technique; it’s easy with my template & video!

We made this pretty set of cards on Monday night's Stamp with Me Live.  It's the 2nd & 4th Monday's at 7:30 pm CT.  Click here and follow my page to get notified when I'm live.  There are 6 live videos each month!

I used the Beauty of the Earth DSP seen here.  The die-cuts are from the Iconic and Artistic dies. in White & Misty Moonlight. The greeting is from the In Symmetry stamp set. Those pretty Subtle Shimmer sequins are from the upcoming Holiday catalog which starts next week!!

I also used another sneak peak product from the upcoming Holiday catalog; the Timber 3D embossing folder.  Of course I stamped the greeting before I embossed it.

I hope you watch the video below to get the tips on cutting these pieces and finishing the cards.

Here is the template.  Start out with a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of card stock AND of Designer Paper.

I suggest you cut this out of scrap card stock.  Make marks where indicated and cut on the diagonal.  Once you have the template I first place the bottom left piece (2 1/2") over my cut DSP & CS pieces and cut.  Then I use the upper right piece (3 3/4") on the remaining piece of papers and cut.  That leaves me with the center piece ready to go.

    Here's the video for you:

  • Welcoming Woods sponged background

Here's one more card featuring the upcoming Welcoming Woods stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.

I went for a colorful background here with Highland Heather, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.

I kept this at an extremely simple layout.  Sometimes I just look in my scrap basket of colors I want to use and figure out a layout with them.  These cards frequently turn out to be my favorites!

    Measurements:

    • White card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", White main image 3" X 4 1/4"
    • Black 3 3/4" X 2 1/4"
    • Calypso Coral 1 5/8" X 4 1/4"
    • Daffodil Delight strip 1/2" X 4"

I hope the cards I've shared using this Welcoming Woods stamp set have inspired you to add it to your list!  We can order from the Holiday catalog starting Tuesday, August 3rd!

  • Welcoming Woods Holiday Catalog Sneak Peak

With each new catalog I join a bunch of online swaps so I can get lots of samples to share with my customers.  Both the Holiday catalog and a 2nd Sale-a-Bration catalog start on August 3rd!  I know my customers started to receive theirs last week.

I loved the Welcoming Woods stamp set immediately.  Nature, trees, 'scene building' sets are some of my favorites.

I went for a soft look of winter trees on my card.

I stamped the trees in Crumb Cake ink onto the White CS.  Then I added snowflakes in Balmy Blue ink and sponged a light 'mist' of Balmy Blue on the sky.  Of course I added a few rhinestones for sparkle!

That beautiful Designer Paper is called Harvest Meadow.

The tags for the greeting is from the Tailor Made Tags dies seen here.

    Measurements:

    • Crumb Cake card 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
    • White 3" X 4"
    • Balmy Blue 3 1/4" X 4 1/4"
    • Harvest Meadow DSP 2" X 4 1/4"
