2 more Botanical Layers card ideas!

Once I started I couldn't seem to stop creating with the Botanical Layers stamp set. I made this card for an online swap:

It's a Dutch door monochromatic card in Orchid Oasis. Do you like these type of cards as much as I do? I find cards with one main color very soothing to the eye and just plain pretty!

I stamped the main image multiple times without reinking. I love that about our inks; you can get multiple hues with one color.

Details:

The card front opens at the bottom only.
I used the Stitched Greenery die for the inside White layer.
There is a half circle of Orchid Oasis ombre glimmer paper at the top with the bow.
The tag is from the Tea Cup dies; the greeting is from the Cup of Tea stamp set.

Measurements:

Card base 5 1/2" X8 1/2"; score at 4 1/4" then trim off at 2 3/4" up to the top of the card. Save this piece for the front layer
Front layer (cut from the card base) is 2 3/4" X 4"
White front is 2 1/2" X 3 3/4"; inside is 4" X 5 1/4"

This next card was made with the Inked Block technique.

Here's how:

I colored an 'H' block with Stampin' Write markers in Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis & Tahitian Tide.
Then I spritzed alcohol on it (you can use water; alcohol dries faster) and pressed it onto my White CS and let it dry.
Lay a piece of copy paper over it and set something heavy on it so it dries flat.

After it's dry I stamped the botanical image in Starry Sky ink and used the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

The greeting is also from the Botanical Layers set; the die-cut is from the All That dies.

You’re a Peach fun fold swap card

I actually love to create swap cards. There's something rewarding about creating multiples of the same cards.

How do swaps work? I know many people are curious…. You create one design and make multiples of it; usually for as many of that card as there are people in the swap. Swapping saves so much time and you get samples using products you don't have to buy. There are so many benefits of swapping but for most of us, the main reasons are it's fun and to get samples we didn't have to design.

I created the card below for a Flowerbug Team swap this month. My gals can take part in our monthly swaps if they'd like to. It's a great opportunity to get a variety of cards to use or share.

For this card I used the You're a Peach suite seen here. It's on pages 60-61 in the Annual catalog.

The card base is Pale Papaya and I added Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and White accents. The greeting die is from the Tasteful Labels dies seen here. I layered it with Pale Papaya CS.

You might wonder how I achieved the 'blushing' peach image. I inked the three peaches (all on one stamp) in Pale Papaya and before I stamped I sponged on a bit of Calypso Coral on the outer edges of each.

Here's the sequence of stamping the main image:
1. Stamp the leaves image twice on the White CS using Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped off once first.
2. Ink and stamp the peaches using the technique mentioned above.
3. Add Balmy Blue ink all over using Blending Brushes. Be sure to use a light hand and start off of the card stock.

- Pale Papaya card base 5 1/2" square, score at 4 1/4"
- Balmy Blue 4 1/4" X 3 1/4"
- Whisper White – 2 pieces. Front is 4" X 3", inside is 4 1/2" X 3 1/2"
- You're a Peach DSP 1" X 5 1/4"

Beauty of Friendship Fun Fold card

Finally I can share this beautiful fun fold card we made at my May Card Clubs!

I like to wait until after all of my Clubs are held so I can surprise them with the cards we're making. I'm not sure why; it's just a habit now after many years of doing it that way!

I chose to use the Beauty of Friendship bundle (seen here) to make this unique 'Latch fold'.

I chose to use a few of our new In Colors; So Succulent & Evening Evergreen along with Pool party. It sure created a pretty, almost monochromatic card. Everyone sure loved it; which is always my goal!

This fold is very deceiving but so simple! Just a little trick at the end to put it all together. Watch the video below!

- Pool Party 5 1/2" X 6 1/2" scored at 4 1/4", 3 1/2" X 3 1/4" scored at 2 3/4" along the 3 1/4" side

Pretty Perennials ‘Happy’ card with video

I wanted to use the Pretty Perennials bundle for my April clubs and I found a card like this on Pinterest. I love the fresh color combination of Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral!

The Perennial dies were used here along with a few others; the recently retired Stitched Shapes and the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The pretty embossing folder is the Dainty Diamonds and I'm sad to say it did retire last month.

Here's the Pretty Perennials bundle. This did not make it in the new Annual catalog and is retiring next month and it will be while supplies last.

I love this set for the flowers but the greetings are the star in my opinion. There are so many ways to use the 'happy' with the rest of the words. My favorite is 'Happy Mail'. Who wouldn't love getting a card with that saying? It could also be stamped on the outside of your envelope as well.

For the inside I used an oval die-cut and added a fun greeting from the Happiest of Birthday's set.
