Retro Circles layout with a quick video. So unique & versatile!

I hope you had a nice Christmas weekend!  We sure did.  It's one of my favorite times of the year; one time where all of my kids are home and we're all together. 

Here's another card we made at my December card clubs.  It was such a hit on Facebook Live Stamp with Me that I had to do it at Club too.  It's a great way to show off your designer paper with this retro style.  Scroll down to see the video. 

Dec Retro Circles Club[1] Save

You just need three circles of different sizes.  I used the Stitched Shapes dies so they have the extra detail of stitches on the edges.  I use these dies so much!  If you don't have them I highly recommend them. See them here. 

I used the Brightly Gleaming specialty DSP here and instead of the copper foiled side I used the other side which has Navy, Mossy Meadow & Island Indigo.

The stamped images are from the Itty Bitty Birthday & Lots to Celebrate stamp sets.  Just one ink color; Night of Navy.

The above cards were made with various designer papers & stamp sets.  The top is Classic Christmas, left is Heartwarming Hugs and right is Snowflake Splendor. 

Measurements:

  • Main card 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
  • Neutral (White or Vanilla) is 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
  • Greeting strip is 1/2" X 5" 
  • Circles are the largest three stitched circle dies 1 3/4", 2 3/8" & 2 7/8"

  • Neat Double Decker pop-up card with measurements

    Today I'm sharing a new pop-up fold – at least it's new to me!  It's called a Double Decker pop up. 

    Masterfully Made 5 Save

    Measurements: 

    • White card base 8 ½” X 5 ½” scored at 2 1/8” & 4 ¼”
    • White inside pop-up box – 3 ½” square scored at ¾”, 1 ½”, 2 ¼” and 3”
    • Front textured piece 1 7/8” X 5 ¼”
    • Scalloped White inside die-cut is 3 1/8” X 4 ½”
    • Fresh Freesia is 2 ¾” X 3 ¾”
    • Designer Paper – 2 pieces per card; 2 ½” X 3 ½” & 4” X 5 ¼”

    The inside 'box' that pops up the scalloped rectangle layer is adhered to both the side and back of the card.  It folds flat when mailing but sure adds nice dimension when the card is opened.

  • One Horse Open Sleigh Spanner fun fold card

    I was surprised to see the One Horse Open Sleigh designer paper back in stock.  It was unavailable last week but it's back now.  I featured it in one of my July card kits to go.  See it here online.

    ONE HORSE OPEN SLEIGH 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER Save

    This designer paper is so pretty; it's filled with beautiful scenes and soft prints. 

    It's called a spanner card because of it's unique fold – the horizontal layer spans the card from side to side.

    I added a few die-cut trees on the right side.  I colored them with Blends markers – adding brown and Gray Granite to the white. The greeting is from the Lasting Joy stamp set. 

    The Gray Granite card base is a simple 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  Then you cut up to the score line at the 1 1/4" mark on front; on both sides. 

    I added designer paper to the center panel and also to both side panels.  The horizontal piece 'spans' under the to side panels like this:

    Measurements:

    • Card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4".  Cut up to the score line at 1 1/4". 
    • Horizontal layer 5 1/2" X 1"
    • Designer paper 2 3/4" X 4" and two pieces 1" X 4" for the sides.
