Pretty Pumpkins with Be Dazzling specialty paper

After seeing other projects with the Pretty Pumpkin bundle I had to get it.  I love the images and the font in the greetings.

I stamped the large pumpkin image in Pumpkin Pie ink and colored them and the leaves with Blends markers using both Pumpkin Pie & Olive markers plus light Crumb Cake for the stem & light Cajun Craze for the darkest areas on the pumpkins.

I was playing around with the Be Dazzling specialty paper and decided to try to color it.  I had a spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol & either Pumpkin Pie or Cajun Craze ink refill.  So I spritzed it on to a piece of the glittery paper.  It worked beautifully!  I did have to let it sit for a few minutes to set well.  Then I rubbed it with tissue to get any excess off before I die-cut the pretty filigree pumpkin with it.

I also spritzed my White twine to color it as well.

Other products:

  • Ornate Layer & Potted Succulent dies
  • Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder
  • Wink of Stella on the leaves

  • Bamboo Beauty & the Ink Swipe Technique

I created this striking card for a swap I participated in with some of my Demonstrator leader friends.  I wanted to highlight the beautiful Bamboo Beauty stamp set.

I decided to create a bold background effect by swiping ink pads directly across my Basic White CS.  Each one turned out totally different!

I chose to use these colors from top to bottom – Pale Papaya, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo & Calypso Coral. Depending on how well inked your pads are you can get a variety of hues.  After I swiped the darker colors I used the Pale Papaya over it all to blend and soften the colors together.

My measurements for this card are as follows:

    • So Saffron card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
    • White (before swiping) 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
    • Black 3 5/8" X 4 7/8"

I hope you try this technique; it's so fun!  I shared this technique using glossy paper in a video a few years ago.  Here's a link to it.

  • Watercolor Shapes Fun Fold cards – FB Live Replay video

On my weekly FB Live I shared many ideas for the Watercolor Shapes stamp set.  The cards below are just one of the three card versions I shared.  Scroll down to catch the video.  Or click here to see it.

I offer frequent Creative Card Challenges for my Flowerbug's Team and this is the one we're currently working on:

Here's a closer view one card. I love how the solid images stamp with multiple hues of color without any effort!  It may look like my ink pad wasn't inked enough but this is on purpose. These Distinctive stamps are wonderful and provide a lot of dimension effortlessly!

Which do you prefer?  Pale Papaya or Fresh Freesia?

There are so many possibilities with this set; I just scratched the surface! Click here to see it in my store.
