Regency Park with the Baby Wipe technique!

During March our Flowerbug's Team has been focusing on using re-inkers.  I hadn't played with the 'baby wipe' technique for awhile.  I chose the Regency Park suite when creating this cute card:

It might not show up well here but the White greeting die-cut is 'caught' and held in place by the larger die & the outer two corners of flowers. These dies fit together perfectly!  *you can see the dies in the photo below; the bottom most label nestles into the largest one with flowers on two edges.

Here's the Sentimental Park bundle as well, with the greeting & die-cuts. This bundle was one of my first purchases from the Spring catalog and I've used it a lot!

The other bundle in this suite is the Petal Park bundle seen here. It includes the stamp set & coordinating flower punch. I used the solid flowers on the middle right for my baby wipe technique and added the outline flowers (top right) in Black.

I had a die-cut dotted background piece (from Dots & Spots here) among my 'extra's and thought it would work well for my background.

What supplies do you need for the Baby Wipe technique?

  1. A baby wipe or two
  2. At least 2-3 colors of ink refills
  3. A stamp and card stock

Success tips for the 'Baby Wipe' technique:

  • Choose colors that work well together.  I tend to choose 3 of my favorites like yellows with pinks, blues with greens, purples with blues etc.
  • Pick a stamp with a solid image; lots of rubber.  An outline image will not show your colors well.
  • Fold the moist baby wipe into an ink pad; I use at least 4 layers.
  • Drop multiple drops of each color in each area. For example – 4 drops of yellow, move over a bit, 4 more drops of yellow etc.  Then fill with the second color in the same manner. Fill in any empty areas with the 3rd or last color.
  • When inking your image stamp it in your 'baby wipe' handmade ink pad multiple times, trying to keep it in the same place as much as possible. Moving the image around too much can muddy your colors.
  • Huff the image and stamp!

Here's the inside of my card; I added a few more of the multi-colored punched flowers.

My colors include Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.

  • Cute Little Ladybug projects!

I created some adorable projects on my Facebook Live this week with the Little Ladybug's stamp set!  Check it out here.  Every Tuesday at 11 am CT I'm Live here.  **Although it will be on Wednesday, January 22nd next week instead.

We made them at my Flowerbug's Team meeting on Saturday too.

The Little Ladybug stamp is found at the back of the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  It's FREE with any $300 order.  Tomorrow I'll share ideas on how you can earn it yourself.

Or place an order with me during January and get in on the prize drawing for one lucky person who will get this stamp set free!

The card above on the left was made by my friend Susie Wood; it's a spinner card!  I loved it so much I had to make one.  I'll share the details on that card tomorrow and another card next week.

I used punches to create the windows on this card from the 5 1/4" X 4" Black CS; it's really a great way to highlight your images.  Sometimes I struggle with smaller images; just what do you do with them to create a great card?!

You could use anything in the windows; greetings, flowers, critters – the sky's the limit!  Look at your stamps in a whole new way!

Did you notice the 'fussy cut' greetings?  I have a tip for you!  Save the paper backing on your red rubber stamps and use it as an outline to trace over your stamped greeting.  Or if you didn't save it, trace the main rubber stamp itself.  Save the template in your stamp case for repeated use.

  • Happy Birthday to You; a free stamp set!

Have you seen this pretty stamp set yet?  The cake on a pedestal image is quite pretty and easy to color too.

And guess what?!  They are releasing a set of die-cuts for this set next month!  It includes 7 dies including one for the entire cake, just the flowers, a detailed pedestal and two sets of leaves.  It will be for purchase; it's not part of Sale-a-Bration.  There are 6 new items they'll release on February 4th that coordinate with items in the new Mini catalog and Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I'll share more on that soon.

This pretty card has a bit of the Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper on the edge; it brings together the soft colors of Pool Party, Petal Pink and White.  It's a bonus card for those who take my New Catalog stamp a stack class on January 25th.

That detailed scalloped rectangle is from my favorite new set of dies; Stitched So Sweetly.  It's one of the best things in the new Mini Catalog!

I colored the cake with Blends markers in Petal Pink, Pool Party and Mint Macaron.  The greeting is stamped in Smoky Slate.  Note the addition of the Champagne Rhinestones and Petal Pink/Champagne ribbon!

The Parisian Blossom DSP, Champagne Rhinestones and Petal Pink/Champagne ribbon are all included in this month's Cards kit to go.  Click here to get the details on it.  Or message me at lagreff60@gmail.com

Here's a photo of all you get in the kit; $20 in product plus the 10 pre-cut cards!  All for $28 before shipping. You do need to RSVP by tomorrow, Thursday January 16th to receive it though!

You can see these products in my online store by clicking on the photos below.  If you are reading this in an email you won't see the photos.  You'll need to click on the title of this blog post to get to my actual blog.  Then you'll see everything!

  • Another Positive thoughts card; in a unique color combination

I have no idea where I came up with this color combination.  I started out with the Petal Pink because I wanted to use the gorgeous champagne edged ribbon.  Maybe I was avoiding green; but the Basic Gray looks beautiful with the Petal Pink!

The Positive Thoughts stamp set is so easy to play with; the images are soft yet detailed which is totally my style. That embossing folder is called 'Coastal Weave'.  It's a free gift to everyone who places an online order over $65 this month (detailed below).

AND, they are coming out with dies to coordinate with this stamp set in February!  I'm so excited about them.  It includes 11 dies for each of the images in the set plus more!  A stitched rectangle, a detailed edgelit and more botanical images.  You'll love them!  They will be for purchase; they're not part of Sale-a-Bration.

Besides the pretty images the greetings put me over the edge to buy it.  I know I'll use them a lot.
