Here’s the card I featured on last week’s video. We made it at my February card clubs locally and it was a big hit!

My colors include Lost Lagoon, Pecan Pie & Basic Beige. There are two different pieces of the designer paper that’s called Nature Walk and can be seen here.

There are lots of pieces and extra elements to this card. It was super fun to put together. That neat striped embossing folder on the extra Lost Lagoon layer is called Lovely Stripes and can be seen here. It’s one of my new favorites.

This card is kept closed by the narrow ‘flap’ attached to the right side of the card. I added a small triangle to the DSP layer to tuck the corner into. Works great To hold that flap down!

The flap is adhered ‘underneath’ the DSP layer inside the card. *note the other embossing folder used on the card above. It’s called Stone & Vine and is also a deeply textured folder seen here.

There are many, many details on this card I want to highlight. Here goes:

  • The die-cut leaves and ‘wood’ piece under the greeting are from the Nature’s Symphony bundle seen here.
  • The die-cut leaves are cut out from our two-sided card stock. I love that you can choose the light or the dark side which gives more color choices!
  • I added Pecan Pie ink to that wood die-cut with a blending brush.
  • The greeting is from the Three Banner punch bundle seen here.

I created a free project sheet you can print or download. Click to see it.

Below is the video tutorial for this card; I hope you watch it as I give multiple tips and ways to make your crafting process easier.

  • Sailboats & Palm Trees featured in today’s card swaps!

    Today's post are the last of my talented Flowerbug Team swaps for April.  Our theme was water, trees or leaves and I've been sharing their cards all week!  It's so fun to see everyone's style and actually receive cards from people across the country.  I LOVE swapping!

    The first card is made by Candy; she is featuring the Paradise Palms bundle seen here.  Her colors include Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Black.

    That pretty die-cut across and under the greeting is part of the Palm dies in the bundle.  She used the Double Oval punch for her greeting.

    It's stunning and a perfect 'guy' card!  Thank you for sharing your fabulous card with us.

    The next card was made by Tammi. She used the Let's Set Sail bundle in the 2022 Jan-June Stampin' Up! catalog.  This bundle is returning in the upcoming Annual Catalog in May.  I love this punch!

    She created her own watercolor background by washing diluted color (Pool Party & Balmy Blue) onto her White CS.  She also textured her background with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.  This folder is retiring now and it's on sale too! I'm so sad about it as I think it's a staple. It is a perfect way to add texture without a lot of busyness.  See it here; get it while you can!

  • Wonderful leaves, trees & lighthouse card ideas

    Today's post features the third post of my talented Flowerbug's Team swap cards.  I've been featuring them all week!  Our theme was to make a card with trees, leaves or water.  It was a fun theme and the cards were gorgeous and unique!

    The first card here is made by Jacki.  She chose to use the Paradise Palms bundle from the 2022 Jan-June catalog.

    She textured her White layer with the Painted Texture embossing folder and added a 2" strip of the Abstract Beauty specialty DSP across the middle.  It looks like sparkly water!

    ~~~
    Next is a card made by Brenda using the Artfully Layered bundle seen here.  I LOVE her unusual color combo of Pool Party, Basic Gray & Petal Pink!
    There are so many wonderful textures & details here!  Look closely to find them all; this bundle includes some special dies in it.
    ~~~

    Jonna made this lighthouse card with the Sailing Home stamp set.  Unfortunately this stamp set was on the retiring list and is already sold out.

    Her colors are Night of Navy, Crumb Cake & White.  She used the Stitched Rectangle dies to create a window; popping up the 'frame' with Dimensionals.  I love how she wrapped the linen thread around the greeting.

    Stop in for the last set of amazing swap cards tomorrow!

  • Wow; more incredible swap cards!

    Today is the second group of incredible swap cards created by my Flowerbug's Team.  You can see the first set here.

    The first card was made by Karen. She used the Oceanfront stamp set.

    She used the Horizon, Stitched Rectangle & Tasteful Label dies.  Sadly the Horizon & Tasteful Label dies are not returning in the upcoming Annual Catalog.

    Her colors include Just Jade (retiring), Crumb Cake & Balmy Blue.  She also textured the large White layer with the Bark 3D embossing folder.  Just lovely!

    Next is a colorful card made by Candace.  She used a brand new (sneak peak) stamp set from the upcoming 2022-23 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  It's called Uniquely Artistic.

    She fussy cut the pretty flowers and popped them up on her stamped and blended background.  A beautiful floral scene!

    Lastly for today is an amazing card made by Mary. She used the Beauty of Friendship bundle.

    See all of those colored, curvy layers behind the Stitched Rectangle frame? Those are all cut using a curved 'hill' die-cut and layered over each other.  Wow!

    She also colored her tree die-cuts using Blends markers.  Incredibly real looking!

    Wasn't I right?  I told you they would be incredible!

    I'll share more of our Flowerbug's fabulous swap cards tomorrow.
