Nature’s Prints with an easy white-washing technique video

I made this beautiful card on Tuesday's FB live.  It's made with the Nature's Prints bundle.

The colors are Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky – two of our newest In Colors that pair beautifully together!  They are a rich blue with a hint of purple in the Orchid Oasis color.  The white edge on this card is made with the Blossoming Happiness dies.  

You might wonder how I colored the leaves white.  It's called the whitewashing technique.  I stamped them in Orchid Oasis and used White craft ink, a bit of rubbing alcohol and a water brush. You can watch how it's done in the video here.  It's my first project of three.  You can see the other two below as well as a sample I cased from the catalog too.  

They're all made with the Nature's Prints bundle seen here.  It was my top pick in the new Annual Catalog by Stampin' Up!.

  • Pretty Perennials ‘Happy’ card with video

    I wanted to use the Pretty Perennials bundle for my April clubs and I found a card like this on Pinterest.  I love the fresh color combination of Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral!

    The Perennial dies were used here along with a few others; the recently retired Stitched Shapes and the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The pretty embossing folder is the Dainty Diamonds and I'm sad to say it did retire last month.

    I love this set for the flowers but the greetings are the star in my opinion.  There are so many ways to use the 'happy' with the rest of the words.  My favorite is 'Happy Mail'.  Who wouldn't love getting a card with that saying?  It could also be stamped on the outside of your envelope as well.

  • Pretty is the word for the Hand Penned suite!

    This is one of the first cards I made with the Hand-Penned suite.  I chose to use the Soft Succulent card base with Fresh Freesia and So Saffron accents.

    That pretty paper is called Hand-Penned Designer Paper seen here on page 131 of the new Annual catalog.  It features so many soft, beautiful colors. People are loving it so much I will likely feature it for a kit to go in June.
