In the Country; which do you prefer? ‘Color’ or Black & White? Video & cool tip!

Happy Valentine's Day!  

I should be sharing a Valentine card today, but I sent them out to my family last week before I took photos! Sheesh! Here's one by Stampin' Up! using the Love for You bundle; you can see it on page 11 of the Spring Catalog.

I shared multiple ways to use this set and options for coloring too.  I know many people do not want to color every bit of a scene like this. So I shared a variety of alternate card ideas like this one shown here.  

In the Country both Save

On the colored version above I simply used my Blending Brushes with Granny Apple Green & Balmy Blue.  Simple but effective.  After coloring I cut the scene out with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I used the 5th from the largest for the scene and the 2nd from the largest for the outside of the White layer. 

Here's another set of cards.  I used Blending Brushes for most of the color – Balmy Blue & Sahara Sand. I did add a bit of Dark Calypso Coral to a few areas with a Blends marker.

The greetings are from the Sending Support stamp set.  This set can be seen here and is also free with a $50 purchase from Stampin' Up! through February of 2023.  

For the greeting die-cut I used a die from the Potted Succulents dies seen here.  I changed the size of this die by cutting it once and then again to make it shorter.  I get a lot more use of my dies this way!

  • Timeless Tidings fun fold card kit to go with tutorial

    My other September card kit is the Timeless Tidings card kit which features all fun fold layouts.

    This designer paper includes multiple printed tags and other elements that makes creating quick and easy. Look!

    Each of the cards above has a unique fold and the layouts make the most of the fun tags and printed elements in the kit.

    There are 3 different layouts and you’ll make 3 of each. Besides the Timeless Tidings DSP I also added the 3 color Christmas twine and the Christmas berries & leaves to the cards.

    The pre-cut kit includes 1/2 pkg of the designer paper and a share of the twine and berries/leaves gems. You’ll receive the PDF tutorial AND all pre-cut pieces. To complete your cards just add stamped greetings and cut your new DSP using the tutorial provided. Everything else is done for you.     Most of these cards are special fun fold layouts and one includes a gift card option. I design my card kits to feature the designer paper, ribbons and gems. You don’t need any special stamps to finish them; only greetings.

    My pre-cut kits to go include all pre-cut pieces including die-cuts and punched pieces. You will receive 1/2 pkg of the Sunflower Fields designer paper and will use the measurements in the tutorial to cut them for each card. Everything else is cut for you.

  • Sharing the Poetic Petals bundle in a unique way! Video & free project sheet too.

    Here’s the card I shared on last week’s Live video. It features the new Poetic Petals bundle.

    Isn’t it cute?! The colors are Barely Blush with Lemon Lolly and Old Olive. I die-cut the floral square and the Perennial Postage outer edge at the same time. Then I colored the flowers, frame and leaves with Blends markers. The frame is reinserted into the window and secured together with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Watch the video to see how it’s done.
