Gorgeous Notes of Nature card with free project sheet & video tutorial

I had no idea I would enjoy creating with the Nature's Sweetness suite as much as I did. It's not my usual style but I'm in love with it all!  

Here's one of the cards I shared on last week's video: 

Notes of Nature Olive Save

I used the Notes of Nature bundle and Old Olive, Black and gold accents on this card.  The large white layer is made by stamping a few of the background stamps in Black ink. I added two sets of leaves – one in green and 2 the other in the Gold designer paper. 

I want to mention what I think puts this card over the top. Of course the gold additions attract your eye but I think repeating colors a few times helps a lot. Notice how the black is repeated, the Olive is and so is the Gold. If you have trouble with color combinations, try adding one color with a neutral or two. Such as Black & White with any color.

More Details:

  • I textured the Olive layer with the Exposed Brick embossing folder and used a Blending Brush to add Old Olive ink to it. This really highlights the texture! 
  • Also notice the small strip of Gold designer paper on the top and bottom of the stamped white layer.  This is the Nature's Sweetness specialty paper. 
  • I added gold sequins and gold Elegant trim near the greeting.

  • Marvelous Nature Ombre technique with video tutorial

    Today I'm sharing the other card I made during Tuesday's video.  Both featured the new set called Marvelous Nature.

    I used an ombre technique where I inked the solid stamped image with three inks consecutively.  The top is Pool Party, the middle is Lost Lagoon and the bottom is Pretty Peacock.

    The greeting is from the set but I did use the Stylish Shapes dies for it and popped it up on Dimensionals.

    The card base is Lost Lagoon with two strips of Pretty Peacock under the main image.  As you can see by the photo below the left card is lighter than the right one.  In the video I went over the upper part of the image one more time using the Stamparatus; mostly so I could get a more solid, complete image.

  • Pretty Marvelous Nature card with video tutorial & measurements

    I've seen a few projects with the Marvelous Nature set and was intrigued by it's reverse images. And it's nature so I ordered it.  This card was one of two I made on this week's Live video:

    I chose to use Lost Lagoon with Pretty Peacock. I also added some of the Hello, Irresistible designer paper. This pretty DSP is on sale right now too!  See it here.  

    You may also spy the shimmery strip beside the greeting.  This is our Soft Shimmer 12" X 12" paper pack seen here.  It has 5 rich colors in it.

  • Colorful Inked Botanicals card kit or PDF tutorial option; available now

    The Inked Botanicals designer paper is a favorite of my customers so I chose it as one of my June card kits.  The color combinations and botanical prints are pretty and quite colorful too. 

    Here are the cards I came up with:
