Easy Kite Delight Fun Fold card with video & measurements

I cannot believe I forgot to share this neat card!  We made it at my April card clubs; it's a fun fold featuring the Kite Delight stamp set & the Pattern Party designer paper.

This stamp set is on the Last Chance list and is on sale at just $12.60 instead of $18.

The color combination includes Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Black & White.  The kites are colored in with Blends markers and the Cloud Punch adds a fun detail for the greeting banner.

Here's how it opens up to reveal the other side of your double sided designer paper.  The Pattern Party DSP is retired now; it was in the annual catalog and free for hosts.

As you can see I changed the cards up just a bit.  I swapped the yellow kits and used two different greetings too.

Measurements:

  • Black base 4 1/4" X 5 1/2", layer 2 5/8" X 3 7/8"
    • DSP 4" X 10 3/4" scored at 3" & 8 1/4"
    • White die-cut 2 1/2" X 3 3/4", inside 3 3/4" X 5"
    • Yellow greeting strip 3/4" X 3 3/4"

I shared this card during last week's FB Live.  Watch it here and see all three Kite Delight cards I made.

  • Bamboo Beauty & the Ink Swipe Technique

I created this striking card for a swap I participated in with some of my Demonstrator leader friends.  I wanted to highlight the beautiful Bamboo Beauty stamp set.

I decided to create a bold background effect by swiping ink pads directly across my Basic White CS.  Each one turned out totally different!

I chose to use these colors from top to bottom – Pale Papaya, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo & Calypso Coral. Depending on how well inked your pads are you can get a variety of hues.  After I swiped the darker colors I used the Pale Papaya over it all to blend and soften the colors together.

My measurements for this card are as follows:

    • So Saffron card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
    • White (before swiping) 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
    • Black 3 5/8" X 4 7/8"

I hope you try this technique; it's so fun!  I shared this technique using glossy paper in a video a few years ago.  Here's a link to it.

  • Watercolor Shapes Fun Fold cards – FB Live Replay video

On my weekly FB Live I shared many ideas for the Watercolor Shapes stamp set.  The cards below are just one of the three card versions I shared.  Scroll down to catch the video.  Or click here to see it.

I offer frequent Creative Card Challenges for my Flowerbug's Team and this is the one we're currently working on:

Here's a closer view one card. I love how the solid images stamp with multiple hues of color without any effort!  It may look like my ink pad wasn't inked enough but this is on purpose. These Distinctive stamps are wonderful and provide a lot of dimension effortlessly!

Which do you prefer?  Pale Papaya or Fresh Freesia?

There are so many possibilities with this set; I just scratched the surface! Click here to see it in my store.
