Double-Decker fun fold card with video tutorial and free project sheet

Here's the second card we made at my September card clubs. It's a 'Double-Decker' fun fold card.

For the circle die-cuts I chose to use both Stylish Shapes for the Vanilla circles and Deckled circle dies for the Early Espresso circle.  The die-cuts in Vanilla & Copper Clay are from the Magical Meadow dies.

The greetings are from one of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday catalog – So Sincere.

A double-decker card is where the center layer is popped up by a small box attached to the inside, back of the card like this.

Autumn Leaves doubledecker Save

You need to adhere the back layer before adding this box. Then you top it with your center layer; for my version it's a piece of designer paper.

I added a second circle to the inside designer paper layer for signing.  But one of my smart customers thought of adding it to the back so it doesn't cover up any of the pretty paper. A great idea!

  • More swaps from my talented Demo friends

    I have a few more swaps to share with you today.  These are all from our newest Online Exclusive products. 

    First up is a pretty floral card from Susan Campfield. She used the Happy Hibiscus bundle.

    This bundle includes a Hybrid embossing folder that includes dies that coordinate with the folder!  It's so cool. You can see it here in my store. 

    In the photo below you can see the die-cut images that are textured. This is done when the die is inserted into the embossing folder with the card stock.  Yes; it is incredible! 

    HAPPY HIBISCUS BUNDLE (ENGLISH) Save

    The next few cards feature the Marbled Elegance suite: 

    This first pretty card is made by Natalie Travis who made the focus of her card that gorgeous golden stitched heart.

    That pretty heart is die-cut with the Hearts of Elegance dies from our new Brushed Metallic paper in both Gold & Silver. See that here. 

    Her measurements are simple – the DSP is 4" X 3", a strip of Cherry Cobbler is 4 1/4" X 5/8" on a Pretty in Pink card base. 

    Next is a gorgeous card made by Sandy Carlson:

    Her colors are Melon Mambo with White and the same beautiful Marbled Elegance specialty DSP. She also used the new Hearts of Elegance bundle seen here.

  • Check out these swap cards from the Otterly Amazing Suite!

     

    Otterly Amazing Julie Save

    Two punched circles and a 3 1/2" square of DSP show off the elements in this Otter suite. The colors include Balmy blue, Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Early Espresso.

    This second swap with the Otterly Amazing suite is made by Tracy Jacobs.

    She created a fun fold by cutting up to the 5 1/2" score line at 1". That layer is adhered to the back of the card base so only the left card front opens. Simple but 'amazing' too!  It really shows off the playful scenes in the Otterly Adorable DSP.  See the DSP here.

  • New! Perfect Pairs stamp set

    I joined an online swap with my Demonstrator friends and knew you'd like to see them. They feature our newest Online Exclusive products.

    First up I'm sharing cards from the Perfect Pairs stamp set. This one was made by my sweet & fun friend Selene Kempton:

    What a cute layout! She used Crumb Cake with Petal Pink and Early Espresso. The White square is 2 1/2" and the other two are 2 3/4". Sweet & simple! The embossing folder is Dashing Designs from the Annual Catalog.
