Dainty Flowers cards with time saving tips!

I made this pretty card in just a few minutes with 1/8 of a 12 X 12" piece of the Dainty Flowers designer paper.  That means you can get 8 cards from each sheet!

I made the first cut across at 5 1/2".  Then cut each piece at 3" wide.  This gorgeous print is just one of many in this pack.  It's free with any $50 order during our Sale-a-Bration promotion from January 5th – February 28th.  See it here.

If you don't have the ribbon color you want, color it with a Blends marker.  Our Blends markers come in a 2-pack of light and dark; try both to see which one fits your needs.  And did you know that if you go over it more than once you can get a darker shade?  This works on both paper AND ribbon!

If you're making multiples of the same card AND heat embossing why not stamp & heat emboss multiples at the same time?

I inked the greetings (from Dainty Delight) in Versamark ink and stamped on the Old Olive CS. Then covered in White embossing powder before heat embossing with the Heat Tool.  Now I could trim them into strips for my cards.

Tip; you cannot do an entire page at once or the ink dries before you can get powder on it.  I did 4-5 at a time and it works fine.  It all depends on how fast you can cover it with powder.

**Before stamping I swiped my card stock with the embossing buddy. This is an anti-static bag that prevents excess powder from sticking where you don't want it.  The embossing buddy is included in our Embossing Additions Tool Kit seen here.

  • What’s Cookin’ & All For Baby card ideas

Today I'm sharing two cards made by sisters on my Flowerbugs Team.  They're so talented and I love to see what they make for our swaps.

First is an amazing card made by Jonna.  She used the What's Cookin' bundle seen here.  I LOVE her colors and how she created a tablecloth from the patterned paper by placing it on an angle.

She stamped & die-cut the cooking elements and added it to the 'table'.  The White background is textured with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

The greeting is stamped and punched out with the Everyday Label punch. It's neat how she used it vertically instead of the usual way.

Next is a sweet baby card made by Jacki featuring the All for Baby bundle seen here.  Her colors are Just Jade & Basic White.  The baby outfit is stamped in Just Jade ink and die-cut; then added with the hanger die-cut.  The designer paper is from our In color patterned paper packs – we have 6 sets of these in all of our color families.

That little rhinestone on the hanger is a great addition. I love the simplicity of this card; it really showcases the outfit & greeting.

  • Gorgeous Blackberry Beauty card swaps

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I hope you have a wonderful day filled with good food, friends and family.

There really isn't a better word for the Blackberry Beauty specialty designer paper.  Gorgeous just fits.

Today I'm sharing two fabulous card ideas made by two of my Flowerbug Team members.

First is Annette's pretty card.  I think my favorite thing is how she made the amazing designer paper the star of the card.  You don't need to add much to make a card shine with this Blackberry Beauty paper!  See it here.

She added a stitched rectangle die-cut in Blackberry Bliss for her greeting, heat embossing it with Gold embossing powder. That thinner strip of Gold foil brings your focus back to the greeting.  I love the 3 Elegant Faceted gems on the left too.

Next is a neat fun fold card made by Brenda.

She trimmed off 1 1/4" off the right edge of the card base and textured it with the Pretty Flowers embossing folder.  Then she adhered it back onto the 'inside' of the card.

I like how she layered the greeting strip with another piece of this designer paper.  Look at the added detail of the thin strip of Brushed Gold paper.

    Measurements:

    • Blackberry Bliss card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  Trim off 1 1/4" off the edge
    • DSP 5" X 2 1/2", 1" X 4 1/4" strip
    • Cinnamon Cider 3" X 2 3/4", 3/4" X 4" greeting strip
    • inside piece 2 1/3" X 4 3/4"
    • Gold strip 1/4" X 5 1/2"

  • Pretty & Iridescent Whimsy & Wonder Team card swaps!

Check out these pretty cards made with the Whimsy & Wonder specialty designer paper and the Whimsical Trees bundle.

This first one was made by Marilyn.  She trimmed off an inch on the right side of her card front so it shows off the pretty Whimsy & Wonder specialty paper.

Other features here are the Iridescent Snowflakes, the Merry Melody embossing folder and the Genial Gems from the Annual catalog.

This Whimsy & Wonder specialty designer paper has been on low inventory multiple times.  It is not carrying over so get it while you can here.

Next is Karen's pretty card.  I love the three banners showing off this pretty paper. And the greeting in the center of the snowflake too!

Here's a link to a video featuring many projects using the Whimsy & Wonder suite you may want to watch.

Have a wonderful & Happy Thanksgiving!!
