Cool technique with the Wink of Stella pen!

There are times I like to color and others that I don't. I came up with this cool technique using the Wink of Stella pen and White Craft ink to highlight my main image.

I pressed a clear block directly onto my White Craft ink pad and used that to pick up the ink with my Wink of Stella pen. You sure don't have to use a clear block but I didn't want to get Wink of Stella in my ink pad. You could use a paper plate or any other non porous surface.

I used Purple Posy, Pool Party and Seaside Spray on the cards below.

Technique tips:

  • Light colored card stock works best here; the White ink can obscure the stamped image on dark card stock.
  • Squeeze out a bit of the Wink of Stella liquid to make a small puddle to mix with the White ink for easier painting.
  • Paint the image once and go back and highlight parts of it if you want more 'lightness'.
  • Black Memento ink works fine to stamp your image
  • This should work nicely on a heat embossed image!
  • You can use the White Craft ink refill instead of an ink pad but a little drop goes a long way!

I also used Versamark to create a background effect on the card base, stamping the main image multiple times. I love how soft a Versamark background is and I don't use it near enough.  This repetitive stamping could be very busy if done in black or a darker color.

Here's the video with 3 different coloring techniques!

  • Thursday is the last day; crazy Kits Collection BOGO deals!

Have you tried any of our current Kit Collection kits yet?  Check them out here ASAP. Tomorrow is the last day of the BOGO promotion.

I demo'd them on last week's Live so you could see how wonderful they are.  Click here to watch.

    How does the BOGO work?

It's quite unusual in that the second kit at 50% off can be the more expensive one.

Such as; buy one for $12 and get a second kit at $20-25 at half off!  Crazy but true!

The first kit I'm sharing is the Light the Candles kit seen here.  It includes everything you need to complete these 8 cards.

I love how bright & colorful this kit is and the dimensional strips are easy to use.  The cute glittery prints are quite eye catching.

These kits are 'all inclusive' which means everything is supplied for you.  Many include the ink and stamps and others have pre-printed sentiments with no stamping needed. There's something for every taste or need.  Click here to see them all.

The Robot Buddies kit is perfect for kids.  It has a neat robot stamp set in it and includes TWO ink spots! too.

Click here to see all of the 17 kits available!  Remember these change frequently.  If they run out of stock they usually come back. They say they'll be available (while supplies last) for a year after they're introduced.

Due to popular demand I have another Annual Catalog paper share going. There are 2 spots left.

Contact me here if you'd like one. It's $26 for eighty two 6 X 6" sheets!

  • Easy Triple Accordion fold with tutorial, measurements & video

We made this pretty Triple Accordion card last night on a FB Live video seen here.  It's a neat fold that is also quite easy to make.

I used the Awash in Beauty designer paper along with the coordinating True Beauty bundle seen here.

    It stands up nicely but also folds into a 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" A2 size card.

    Measurements:
    • Card base 4 1/4" X 11" scored at 2 3/4", 4 1/4", 7 1/4" & 8 1/2"
    • Pink layer is 4" square. Cut 2
    • DSP – 2 pieces at 3 7/8" square
    • White 2 1/4" X 4"

I am challenging everyone to make and share one on my FB group page here by July 17th to be entered in Prize Patrol for a free embellishment.

    The entire suite is beautiful!

You can get a share of this pretty designer paper in my Annual Catalog paper share. I still have a few spots left! Message me here Details are at the bottom of this post.

My colors include Mossy Meadow, Polished Pink & Balmy Blue.  The pretty die-cut flowers are all from the Awash in Beauty designer paper.  The Organic Beauty dies are designed perfectly to match the DSP!  The only stamping I did here are the two greetings; all of the flowers are die-cut from either card stock or DSP.

Do you see the little bit of color on the Pink blossom die-cut?  I used Wink of Stella and my White craft ink to add color. Watch the video below to see how.

  • Fun shaker card with the Bottled Happiness bundle!

We made this fun shaker card at my June card clubs.  It features the Bottle of Happiness bundle and the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes seen here.

I shared how to make it in last week's FB Live video.  You can see it here on my YouTube channel too.

Heads up!  Soon I will be posting my weekly videos on YouTube each Tuesday morning instead of Facebook. So be sure you're following me on YouTube.  Click on the red bell so you're notified when I go live.

I wish you could shake it yourself!  There's just something extra special about an interactive card and the Bottled Happiness bundle makes it so easy.

The colors are Pear Pizzazz with the new Orchid Oasis.  The products I used are:

    • Bottled Happiness bundle (stamp set & Vintage Bottle punch)
    • White CS, Pear Pizzazz & Orchid Oasis inks and card stock
    • Stitched with Whimsy dies
    • Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes
    • Effervescent Elements (pretty beads inside the dome)
    • Charming Sentiments greetings (inside)
    • In Color twine combo pack

Below you can see the card front on the left and the inside of the card on the right.

I hope you'll watch the video to see my tips on making a super easy shaker card!  Click on the photo below to watch.
