Control Freak’s Blog Hop; Favorite Colors theme!

Welcome to the January Blog Hop from our talented Control Freaks group! Our theme this month is to use our favorite Stampin' Up! color and make it monochromatic!

If you just stopped in from Wendy's blog I'm sure you enjoyed her projects. She is super creative!

I haven't joined a blog hop in awhile and I've missed it! This color theme was perfect for me as my Flowerbug's Team swapped monochromatic cards last week. I've been sharing them here all week long.

My first card features a new stamp set called Crane of Fortune.

I chose to feature Misty Moonlight with Night of Navy & White. The Crane of Fortune stamp set is new in our Stampin' Up! January-June catalog. It's a Distinktive stamp set which means you get multiple hues of color with one inking. These are my favorite type of stamps. Look how pretty the images are in one color and so easy too!

After I stamped the crane I textured it with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

This card is a very simple fun fold. Here are the measurements:

Score your 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
Misty Moonlight layer 1 7/8" X 5 1/4"
White layers are 3 1/4" X 4 1/2"
Navy layer is 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"

I stamped some of the dragonflies on the front layer of Misty Moonlight. I used White Craft ink for a soft, subtle effect. As you can see I made quite a few of them for our Team swap!

Next is a pretty card in Soft Succulent & White.

I used the new Artfully Layered stamp set along with the Stitched Rectangle dies. This technique is called Triple Time Stamping.

To achieve this layered effect I stamped all three of the White layers at the same time. Then you adhere each piece to a Soft Succulent layer and put the pieces back together; almost like a puzzle. It's a great way to create quick, eye catching cards.

Measurements:

Soft Succulent – 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base, 4 1/8" X 2 7/8" & 3" X 1 5/8"
White – 5 1/4" X 4", 4" X 2 5/8" & 2 3/4" X 1 3/8"

All About Autumn Accordion Fold card

Check out this beautiful swap card Karen made with the All About Autumn Designer series paper:

That pretty greeting is from the Autumn Leaves stamp set; the die is from the Timeless Greetings bundle. This beautiful designer paper (All About Autumn seen here) is not currently available. It will be back in later October though.

The card front doesn't look at all like it might be a fun fold does it? But check this out!

It's called an Accordion fold and she cased this card idea from Sue Campfield. The designer paper on the front is most of the card front; it's adhered to a small layer of card stock though. *You can see the back of the designer paper front on the photo below.

She did an awesome job on the inside of the card; so many layers and textures galore! The texture is from the new Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder seen here.

The scattered leaf Rose Gold foil die-cuts and gorgeous DSP are so pretty.

Three pretty cards made with the Autumn Leaves bundle

I have three fall themed cards to share with you – swaps my Flowerbug's Team made.

First is one made by Karen G. She featured the Autumn Leaves bundle.

It's a fun fold card where the main panel is adhered to the upper, front flap. The designer paper is the All About Autumn (sadly unavailable – back early October), the embossing folder is Leaf Fall (online exclusive seen here) and the greeting die-cut is from the Timeless Arrangements bundle.

Colors are Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and White.

Measurements:
- Crushed Curry card base 5 1/2" X 6 1/4" score at 4 1/4", top layer is 4 1/4" X 2 3/4"
- Cajun Craze – front layer 4" X 2 1/2", upper flap layer 5 1/4" X 1 3/4"
- Designer paper 5" X 1 1/2"

Next is a pretty card made by Mary who also used the Autumn Leaves bundle.

She cased this pretty card from Chelsea Christenson. The designer papers are from both Let's Go Fishing and Earthen Elegance. Her colors include Cajun Craze, Vanilla and Mossy Meadow. She fussy cut the greeting.

Measurements:
- Vanilla card base 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" score at 4 1/4", 4" X 5 1/4" layer and another textured layer 3" X 4"
- Designer Paper – 2 pieces at 3/4" X 5" and the center piece is 1 3/8" X 5"
- Cajun Craze strip 1/2" X 3 1/2"
Lastly is a gorgeous card made by Paula – it's a super neat fun fold card!

I plan to make a card like this soon on one of my videos; it really is fantastic. But I feel you may need a video to achieve this.

- Card base 4 1/4" X 11" score at 5 1/2" mark at 2" on one short end and score to each outside score line. Then score again at 3 1/2" from the bottom (Look for an upcoming video from me on this fold!)
- Designer paper 4" X 5 1/4" cut into three triangles – mark bottom center at 2" and cut up to upper corners on both sides
- Vanilla inside 4" X 5 1/4"

Beautiful Fall swap card projects

I shared quite a few of my Team swap cards yesterday and today are three more beauties!

First up is a beautiful card made by Jacki featuring the Sending Smiles set seen here and the Sending dies seen here

I always love to see out of the box colors for the Autumn season. She used Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Pumpkin Pie with Crushed Curry. The background designer paper is the Inked Botanicals from the Annual catalog.

What a gorgeous bouquet of flowers she created.

Next is Marla's card – she also used the Inked Botanicals designer paper. She also used the Cottage Wreaths stamp set seen here on her main layer.

The colors include Crushed Curry, Lost Lagoon and Calypso Coral – all featured in her designer paper.

Measurements:
- Vanilla card base 7 1/2" X 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4", 2 3/4" X 3 3/4" for stamped front panel
- Crushed Curry 3" X 5 1/4" plus 3" X 4" for front panel layer & 1" X 5 1/4" inside
- Designer paper 2 3/4" X 5"
Ginny made this last card using the Natural Prints set and Nature's Prints dies seen on page 24 of the annual catalog.

She cased this card from Mitusu Crafts; she inked her clear blocks directly in our classic inks and stamped directly onto her card stock. She heat embossed the 'splotches' using Copper embossing powder.

There are so many awesome details here – the colors are Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock and Pebbled Path. I love the greeting shape – cut by hand I believe.
