Control Freak’s Blog Hop; Favorite Colors theme!

Welcome to the January Blog Hop from our talented Control Freaks group! Our theme this month is to use our favorite Stampin' Up! color and make it monochromatic!

If you just stopped in from Wendy's blog I'm sure you enjoyed her projects. She is super creative!

I haven't joined a blog hop in awhile and I've missed it! This color theme was perfect for me as my Flowerbug's Team swapped monochromatic cards last week. I've been sharing them here all week long.

My first card features a new stamp set called Crane of Fortune.

I chose to feature Misty Moonlight with Night of Navy & White. The Crane of Fortune stamp set is new in our Stampin' Up! January-June catalog. It's a Distinktive stamp set which means you get multiple hues of color with one inking. These are my favorite type of stamps. Look how pretty the images are in one color and so easy too!

After I stamped the crane I textured it with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

This card is a very simple fun fold. Here are the measurements:

Score your 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
Misty Moonlight layer 1 7/8" X 5 1/4"
White layers are 3 1/4" X 4 1/2"
Navy layer is 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"

I stamped some of the dragonflies on the front layer of Misty Moonlight. I used White Craft ink for a soft, subtle effect. As you can see I made quite a few of them for our Team swap!

Next is a pretty card in Soft Succulent & White.

I used the new Artfully Layered stamp set along with the Stitched Rectangle dies. This technique is called Triple Time Stamping.

To achieve this layered effect I stamped all three of the White layers at the same time. Then you adhere each piece to a Soft Succulent layer and put the pieces back together; almost like a puzzle. It's a great way to create quick, eye catching cards.

Measurements:

Soft Succulent – 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base, 4 1/8" X 2 7/8" & 3" X 1 5/8"
White – 5 1/4" X 4", 4" X 2 5/8" & 2 3/4" X 1 3/8"

Simply Zinnias dies are the focus of this easy fun fold

I shared this striking card on last week's Live video. I focused on the Flowering Zinnias suite.

My colors include Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Black, Flirty Flamingo & White.

I textured the Melon Mambo layer with the new Zinnia 3D embossing folder and created the two flowers & leaves from the Simply Zinnias dies. See all of the Zinnia products here.

The greeting is from the new Comforting Thoughts stamp set seen here. I LOVE this set! It includes so many greetings I'd actually use!

LOTS of beautiful Flowering Zinnias card swaps by my Team!

I'm continuing to share our March card swaps made by my Flowerbug's. Our theme was Online Exclusives and many of us chose the Flowering Zinnias and the Simply Zinnia bundle for our cards.

*Currently the Flowering Zinnias Suite and bundle are unavailable. The Simply Zinnias stamp set is out of stock and expected back in around March 25th. The Shiny Sequins are also out of stock but expected back in April.

First is a pretty card made by Karen G.

She showed off the beautiful Flowering Zinnias designer paper AND the Berry Burst & Old Olive glimmer paper seen here. It also includes a sheet of White in the pack. This designer paper pack includes two sheets of paper perfect for an easy card front.

The greeting is from the Simply Zinnia stamp set. Her colors include Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and White.

Next is a fun fold card made by Karen A.

She tore the Flowering Zinnias designer paper into strips and added to her card front. What a great layering technique! She used Black, Petal Pink and Lemon Lime Twist here. It's actually a special fun fold that twists!

This is one of those cards you have to see in person or on a video; it's very cool!

Measurements:
- Black card base 11" X 4 1/4" score at 5 1/2". Then make a mark on one side at 4 1/4" and score diagonally to that line. You'll fold the card on that diagonal back to the top and add the Green layer to it.
- Lemon Lime Twist 4" square
- Petal Pink 3 3/4" & 1" X 4"
- DSP strips measure 3 1/2" across. The vertical strip on the side is 3/4" X 3 3/4"
Next is a neat card made by Rita.

She used the Flowering Zinnias designer paper and a window sheet layer to create a peek-a-boo card. The sentiment is from Forever Fern (now retired) stamped on a Hexagon punched piece. The flowers are fussy cut from the designer paper.

Measurements:
- Card base 4 1/4" X 7 1/2" score at 5 1/2"
- DSP – 4 pieces at 4 1/4" X 2"
I love seeing what my gals make! Many times I'm reminded of neat card folds, layouts or techniques.

Next is a pretty card made by Ginny who focused on the Simply Zinnias stamp set.

She used Blends markers to color the pretty zinnia image. Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie are her cardstock & Blends colors. She popped up the top two layers on Dimensionals; what a difference this makes!

Beautiful Online Exclusive card swaps

We held our monthly Team Gathering and our swap theme was to feature Online Exclusive products. Honestly our current line of OE products is amazing. Did you know there are over 90 items? Be sure to check them out here.

Her coloring is amazing! I believe she used Blends markers for the scene. She used two sizes of the Deckled Circles and her background is made with the Foursquare decorative masks seen here. She used a Blending Brush with Orchid Oasis ink to create that gorgeous, striking background. Her colors are Orchid Oasis & Sweet Sorbet – both of these In Colors are retiring in early April!

Next is a stunning card made by Tracey. She chose the Courage & Faith stamp set in the Annual catalog; see it here.

I just love how this layout shows off the pretty Meandering Meadows designer paper!

Measurements: Each of the designer paper pieces are 2 1/2" X 1 1/4". This allows you to make two cards with each 6 X 6" piece of DSP. The greeting is stamped on a the Scalloped Contours diecut seen here.

Next is a wonderful card perfect for either guys or gals. It features the Trucking Along bundle seen here.
