Great card ideas from my Flowerbug’s Team swaps!

Here are a few more swap cards made by my Flowerbug's Team in August.  I hope you get some inspiration from them.  

First is a sweet card made by Candy using the Caroling Mice stamp set. It's a hostess stamp set that's free with host rewards. See it and the details on page 86 of the Holiday catalog.  Or click here.

Her colors are Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, White & Shaded Spruce.  She colored the images in with Blends markers.  I love how she paired the Merry Melody embossing folder with this!  

The circles are from the Layering Circles dies and the designer paper is the Lights Aglow specialty DSP.  It is currently out of stock but will return in September.

Next is another fun card using the same Caroling Mice set, made by Sharon.  

She used a totally different color combo here – Orchid Oasis with White & Garden Green.

We colored the mouse in with watercolor pencils and smoothed them out with a Blender pen.  She used the Deckle dies for her rectangles, the Christmas Banner dies for the greeting and the trees are from the same set but fussy cut.

That dotted silver background paper is from the Silver & Gold DSP – currently available free with a $50 during Sale-a-Bration in August.  Sale-a-Bration ends on the 31st!  

We used the Pearlized Enamel Effects on the tree ornaments, the music notes and for his hat pompom! So fun!

  • Neat Double Decker pop-up card with measurements

    Today I'm sharing a new pop-up fold – at least it's new to me!  It's called a Double Decker pop up. 

    Masterfully Made 5 Save

    Measurements: 

    • White card base 8 ½” X 5 ½” scored at 2 1/8” & 4 ¼”
    • White inside pop-up box – 3 ½” square scored at ¾”, 1 ½”, 2 ¼” and 3”
    • Front textured piece 1 7/8” X 5 ¼”
    • Scalloped White inside die-cut is 3 1/8” X 4 ½”
    • Fresh Freesia is 2 ¾” X 3 ¾”
    • Designer Paper – 2 pieces per card; 2 ½” X 3 ½” & 4” X 5 ¼”

    MASTERFULLY MADE 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER Save

    The inside 'box' that pops up the scalloped rectangle layer is adhered to both the side and back of the card.  It folds flat when mailing but sure adds nice dimension when the card is opened.

  • One Horse Open Sleigh Spanner fun fold card

    I was surprised to see the One Horse Open Sleigh designer paper back in stock.  It was unavailable last week but it's back now.  I featured it in one of my July card kits to go.  See it here online.

    ONE HORSE OPEN SLEIGH 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER Save

    This designer paper is so pretty; it's filled with beautiful scenes and soft prints. 

    It's called a spanner card because of it's unique fold – the horizontal layer spans the card from side to side.

    I added a few die-cut trees on the right side.  I colored them with Blends markers – adding brown and Gray Granite to the white. The greeting is from the Lasting Joy stamp set. 

    The Gray Granite card base is a simple 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  Then you cut up to the score line at the 1 1/4" mark on front; on both sides. 

    I added designer paper to the center panel and also to both side panels.  The horizontal piece 'spans' under the to side panels like this:

    Measurements:

    • Card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" score at 4 1/4".  Cut up to the score line at 1 1/4". 
    • Horizontal layer 5 1/2" X 1"
    • Designer paper 2 3/4" X 4" and two pieces 1" X 4" for the sides.

  • Check out these projects featuring Clearance Rack deals

    Next is the Leaves of Holly stamp set.  It was $22 and is now just $15.25 on clearance. 

    I created these beautiful Christmas cards on a video last year.

    I call it the 5 at a time technique.  You stamp one sheet of neutral paper and then cut it into 5 pieces using my template below.  And the neat thing is the layers under the stamped White card stock are also cut using a template. Just 2 sheets of card stock to make 5 card fronts!  *Watch the video below or click here.

    See how I stamped down the center of the White card stock on the photo above?  Next I cut it using the template below: 

    The first template is what you stamp on.  The one below is for the layers under the stamped pieces. It's just 1/8" larger for a nice thin layered accent.
