Casing my friend with Caring Leaves & video

Last week I was out of town to see my son get married in the beautiful Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming.

The photographer was incredible; I have to share some of her early shots with you.  It was a quick trip but we were blessed to be there for the small ceremony. We had a wonderful time driving through the stunning park with the photographer scouting out photo opportunities.  We're thrilled to add Katrina to our family!

Today I'm sharing the swap card I made for our Team card swap this month:

My colors include Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Beige & Very Vanilla.  Peacock is one of my favorite 'outside the box' colors for autumn projects.

Two of my favorite types of stamps are 2-step and Distinktive and this set is both!  It's a sweet & simple set & it's just $17. See it here.

When I was planning my card for the swap I came across the card on the left below.  It's one my friend Susie Wood made awhile ago. I loved the layout and cased it using the Caring Leaves set.

Casing a favorite card or layout is my go to when designing a new project. It's fun to switch up colors and products while using the same design.

I created a video that's posted below.  I stamped the outline leaves on the large Pretty Peacock layer before embossing it with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder. I also stamped an extra leaf to fussy cut and add under the tag.  See the measurements below.

Measurements:

  • Basic Beige 4 1/4" X 11" score at 5 1/2"
  • Pretty Peacock 2 3/4" X 5 1/2", 2 3/4" X 4
  • Pumpkin Pie 2 1/2" X 3 3/4", 4 1/4" X 1" strip
  • Very Vanilla 2 1/4" X 3 1/2" plus tag die-cut

Below is the video I shared along with card swaps from my Team.

  • Lily Impressions DSP; make the most of your paper with this fun-fold card!

Do you struggle with double sided designer paper?  What if you love both sides of the paper and cannot decide which one to use?  Well I have a solution for you with this fun fold card!

I created these cards for my March thank you's for online orders.  They feature the Lily Impressions designer paper from the 2020 Sale-a-Bration catalog seen here.  One side of the papers is all water lilies with an impressionistic feel and the other has washed patterns. The colors are bright and vibrant!

On the above card the colors are Purple Posy with Blackberry Bliss and Garden Green. The pretty punched corners are from the Detailed Trio punch seen here.

The stamp set and dies are from my top pick for Bundles in the 2020 January – June mini catalog – the So Sentimental bundle seen here:

The front right panel opens on just one side.  It's a perfect layout for your designer paper and all you need to do is add a punched or die-cut layer across both panels.

The colors on the card above are Pretty Peacock with Melon Mambo. I used the Pretty Peacock rhinestones as accents.

    Which is your favorite?

    Measurements:

    • Card stock is 4 1/4" X 9" scored at 5 1/2"
    • Designer paper on the left is 3 1/4" X 4"; card stock on the right is 1 7/8" X 4"
    • The inside white layer is 3 1/4" X 4"
    • Melon Mambo banner is 1" X 4 1/4"

  • Mountain Air with Stitched Nested Labels

This month I'm featuring the Mountain Air bundle; a fantastic set of stamps and dies that make creating scenes so easy. I created 10 beautiful scenic cards to share with anyone who orders this bundle from me this month.  It's also free to anyone who places an online order.  *Details below

Here's one of my favorites made with the Stitched Nested Label dies and the Stone embossing folder.

The Stitched Nested Label dies are in the annual catalog and you can see them here online.

You might wonder how I achieved the textured white washed background.  I first textured the Smoky Slate card stock with the Stone 3D embossing folder.  Then I lightly rubbed my White Craft ink pad directly onto the card stock.  Let dry or heat set with an embossing tool.  Such a fabulous look!

The Stone 3D embossing folder is part of the Power of Hope bundle from the 2020 Sale-a-Bration catalog seen here.  It's free with the Power of Hope stamp set for any $100 order while supplies last.  It's already on the low inventory list!

    Other details:

    • Colors are Smoky Slate, Pretty Peacock, Basic Gray and Whisper White
    • The trees are stamped in Pretty Peacock; one in full strength ink and the other second generation ink (stamped off once). They're die-cut with the Majestic Mountain dies.
    • The greeting is from the Well Said stamp set (one you can get FREE with the purchase of the Starter kit! #BestDealEver!)

  • Easy card design; get two cards with one cut with the So Very Vellum Specialty paper

The 2nd set of Sale-a-Bration products are here!  There are 5 new items you can choose from that you get FREE with a $50 – $100 order from now through March 31st.  Honestly I am guessing the Vellum and Flowering Foils papers might sell out before March is over.

I made these quick cards with the pretty textured So Very Vellum and the Eyelet Lace embossing folder in the annual catalog.

To get two pieces from each quarter sized sheet of vellum see the measurements and tips are below.

The colors are Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy which are the colors this specialty vellum comes in.  It has a dotted grid of texture on each sheet!  This specialty vellum is one of the new FREE choices with any $50 order in March. See it here.

    Tips:

    1. Cut one piece of vellum measuring 4" X 5 1/4".  Make a mark at 1 1/2" from the upper left and 1 1/2" from the lower right and cut each piece in half at a diagonal.  You'll have 2 perfect diagonal pieces for your cards.
    2. Adhere the vellum to the White 4" X 5 1/4" card base using liquid glue; I prefer Multipurpose adhesive.  I added a thin line under the dots on the vellum and it doesn't show at all!
    3. The die-cuts are from the Stitched So Sweetly dies; I did add a scalloped 1 1/8" circle punch between the two layers and sponged the White pieces.
    4. The greetings are from the So Sentimental stamp set; it's a bundle with the dies at a 10% savings.  See it here.
