Best Tips for successful Shaker Cards with video tutorial!

Who wouldn't like to receive a shaker card?!  They're fun, shakable and hard to resist playing with.

I made a bunch of these for our July Team card swap featuring 'window sheets'. I love the fact that I could get multiple, colorful die-cut flowers with the Extraordinary Floral Washi Tape and the coordinating die-cut. Just add it to another piece of cardstock and die-cut. So fast & EASY!

Notice the sponged green designer paper above. That is the Irresistible Designs 12" DSP seen here.  I added Olive ink to it with a Blending Brush; the printed embossed designs 'resist' the ink.  Pretty cool!

I used the Paper Tags stamp set – stamping the greeting directly onto the window sheet with Black Stazon ink. Then I turned it over to add a bit of Flirty Flamingo blends marker on the 'celebrate' part.

My colors include Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and White for a fresh floral card design. Want to know the steps to achieve a shaker card?  Best to grab the free project sheet below or watch the video tutorial.

  • Peaceful Garden book-binding & gatefold card with free project sheet

I love this fun fold layout! I cased it from my friend & team member Tina.

My colors include Cloud Cover with Night of Navy & White. The designer paper is the Peaceful Garden seen here. The greeting is from the Sentimental Framing set seen here. I textured the Navy side layer with the Peaceful Greenery embossing folder. That beautiful die-cut is from the Traditional Labels dies seen here; my very favorite set of label dies right now!

I stamped the inside with Cloud Cover ink (available in an ink spot) and the Textured Notes stamp set. The leaves match this DSP perfectly!

I created a free project sheet for this card with measurements & directions. Click here to download or print it.

I’ll share the other two cards I created on last week’s Live in the next few days.

Below is the video where I made this card and two more featuring the Peaceful Garden suite.

  • I love gold & glitz on Christmas cards!

Here are another set of gorgeous holiday cards made by my Flowerbug’s Team.

First is a pretty card made by Kim who chose the Peace on Earth bundle seen here.

That stunning designer paper is called Season of Elegance and can be seen here. She embossed the DSP with the Peaceful Greenery embossing folder. Simple & stunning.

Check out this pretty fun fold card made by Paula:

She featured lots of new products! The stamp set is Branching Out and is stamped on a tag from the Patterned Tags dies seen here which is also where that cute bow is from. The Designer Paper is the Traditions of Christmas specialty paper and the embossing folder is Forever Plaid. Whew!

    Her measurements are:

    Vanilla card base 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″, Vanilla scored layer is 2 3/4″ X 11″ scored at 5 1/2″, textured layer is 2 1/2″ X 5 1/4″ & the DSP is 2 strips 3/4″ X 5 1/4″

I’ll share the last of our Team swaps next week.

  • More Christmas card swaps; creative ideas for you!

Yesterday I shared an elegant Christmas card swap made by one of my Flowerbug’s; today I’ll share a few cute ones. Which is your style?

First up is a sweet card made by Candace who chose the Gingerbread Man bundle seen here.

She heat embossed the gingerbread outline on Pecan Pie card stock and die-cut it with the coordinating die. She also stamped the hat and scarf images with heat embossing too. Love the sheet-pan effect the Silver Foil paper gives here! So cute!

Next is an adorable card made by Joan who featured the Homemade Treats bundle seen here. Another sheet pan with gingerbread on it! So cute.

Her colors include Basic Beige, Real Red, Silver, Early Espresso & Pecan Pie. Each of the elements are stamps & coordinating dies from this cute Homemade Treats bundle seen here.

The next card is made by Kathy who used the North Pole Delivery designer series paper for this gatefold card:

Her colors include Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Petal Pink. See this cute suite here. It’s great for the animal lovers out there.

And lastly today is this center fold card made by Barb who used the Festive Friends bundle seen here.

She also used the Waves 3D folder in the back and the Christmas Tags & More DSP for the plaid strips. Here’s the inside view:

Stay tuned; I’ll share more swaps tomorrow!
