Baby Wipe technique and the easiest Shaker Card ever! Tips for success & Video Tutorial

This card was cased from my good friend Susie Wood; creating comes naturally to her. She's fast and super talented. See her cute card here.

I used the Tropical Leaf bundle in the Online Exclusives section of our online store. I also wanted to feature the baby wipe technique.

The colors include Parakeet Party, Bermuda Bay and a tiny bit of Granny Apple Green. The designer paper inside the clear envelope is Pretty Prints. Here's how I created the clear envelope shaker:

My Pretty Prints designer paper layer is 5 1/4" X 4" and our clear envelopes are about 1/2" larger. For the shaker elements to stay on the front side of the envelope it has to be tight and smaller. So I added tear & tape to the back edge and folded the extra over tightly. Now, insert your shaker elements on the front pocket and fold down the end flap. Wallah! You have a shaker card front!

It includes some of my favorite colors – Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen.

The CS layers on the front are added on top of this shaker element so you still get the feel of a real card; not all slippery. Watch the video here or below to see how it's done. It's the 2nd project of 3.

Now to create the baby wipe leaves I made my own ink pad with a folded baby wipe.

Tips for success of the baby wipe technique:

Fold a baby wipe into a thick layer; at least 4 layers thick. Make your 'pad' as large as your largest stamp image. Place it on a plate.
Drop multiple drops of each color of ink refill onto the baby wipe, leaving room between colors for another color.
I recommend at least 2 colors and up to 4 at the most.
Choosing colors? Find complimentary colors in similar shades – blues/greens, yellows/oranges, oranges/pinks etc.
Choosing stamps? Solid images work best; outline images will not show off your colors well.
Ink your stamp in the new colored pad by tapping up and down in the same approximate place. Traveling while inking may muddy your colors.
Huff on the image and stamp.
Depending on how much ink you added you can use your new 'ink pad' multiple times. Add more ink drops as needed.

Pleased as Punch; another fun fold card with optional pocket

I knew I wanted to make the focus of this card a square shape so I could add four pieces of the Designer Paper on the front with the greeting on top. So I had to figure out a way for the side to be separate. I rarely make square cards so this was my compromise.

I adhered the side flap to the card base just at the outside edges to form a pocket. This is for either money or a gift card.

Details:
- Front greeting is Seriously the Best stamp set. I cut apart the 'Hello Friend' greeting so I could ink it up separately.
- Inside stamps and front flowers are from the Thoughtful Blooms set; free during our Sale-a-Bration promotion.
- Flower punch is the Small Bloom punch; free during Sale-a-Bration.
- Front stitched die-cut is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies
Measurements:
- Mango Melody card base – 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". I cut up to the score line at 1 1/4" on the outside edge. The extra piece is textured with the Coastal Weave embossing folder. It measures 7/8" X 4"
- White – 4" square
- Balmy Blue 1" X 5"

Power of Hope meets Peacock Foil

For our February Flowerbug's Team swap we chose to do a swap featuring Sale-a-Bration cards. They are all fantastic! Over the top wonderful. I cannot wait to share them all with you.

Here's the one I made using the Power of Hope bundle seen here. It's one of the free items you receive with purchase during our Sale-a-Bration promotion from now through March 31st; or while supplies last. I do suspect this will sell out before March is over.

I textured the Noble Peacock Foil (seen here) with the Stone embossing folder from this bundle. Adding texture to this pretty foil brings it over the top! I also added a layer of vellum and a few flags of Peacock foil. It comes in 6 single-sided sheets of 12 X 12" foil paper. 2 each of 3 colors: Blueberry Bushel, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock. There are Noble Peacock rhinestones that match this paper perfectly.

Seriously the Best Cards with Golden Honey Folio gift pouch & video

I chose to use the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Paper for my color inspiration. It's Black, White with Gold foil accents. Measurements and details are below.

As you can see I made a few cards with just black, white and gold. Then I added color on the other with Melon Mambo & used just the black and white DSP. You can add any of your favorite colors to this pretty paper; Black and White is just the beginning!

Here are the measurements for the folio pouch and cards.
- Folio is 8 1/2" X 11". Score on the long side at 5 1/4" and 5 3/4". Score on the short side at 6 1/2".
- DSP on the front is 4 1/2" X 5 3/4" and the white layer is 4 5/8" X 6"
- Cards measure 4 1/4" X 9"; scored at 5 1/2". DSP is 3 1/4" X 4" and 1 7/8" X 4".
