Angled Gate-Fold card with a latch closure; template & video tutorial

I shared these cards last night on my Monday night Stamp with Me Live.  They're called Angled Gate-Fold cards.

These first two cards feature the Painted Christmas designer paper, the Thinking, Thanks & Peace stamp set & Seasonal Label dies. The large greeting die-cut was cut smaller by cutting once and reinserting it to trim off a bit. (shared in the video)

On this card I added dimensionals to only the very left side of the greeting so it could work as a 'latch'.  The right side flap slips between the left side and the die-cut greeting to keep the card closed flat.  *Watch the video below to see how it's done.

I created an easy template for both the card base and the additional designer paper layer.

One important thing to note about the template below for the DSP layer is to be sure to check the direction & side you prefer before trimming off the angles.  You can use this template for both sides; just trim off the opposite edge.

  • Three fast & easy Free as a Bird cards

    We made these three cards on Zoom and Facebook Live last night.  Each Thursday evening at 8 pm CT I hold a Stamp with Me session.  In 30 minutes we've all made 3 pretty cards together! 

    April 25th cards Save

    I post the measurements ahead of time so they can prep and be ready.  They can substitute any of the card stock, stamps etc to create their version of my card designs.  It's so fun to see what everyone makes!

    The pretty Bird Ballad designer paper is retiring and is discounted. See it here. 

    Supplies:
    Free as a Bird stamp set
    Black, Daffodil & Pool Party inks
    Blends markers – Pool Party, Light Old Olive, Light Calypso Coral, Sponges, pearls

    Measurements:
    Pool Party card – 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" score at 1 1/2" & 4 1/4"
    DSP – left is 2 1/2" X 5 1/4", inside right is 1 1/2" X 5 1/4", White is 2 3/8" X 5 1/4"
    Black is 2 5/8" square. The White is 2 1/2" square
    *I used the Small Bloom punch for the stamped flowers

    April 25th Save

    Petal Pink card 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
    DSP is 2 1/2 X 5 1/2", Black is 2 3/4" X 5 1/2"
    White strip 3/4" X 4", Magnolia Memories dies for flower

    April 23 Free as a Bird Save

    So Saffron card 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
    DSP – one piece at 3 3/4" X 4" cut into 1 1/4" strips
    Black 4" X 4 1/8"
    Black Stitched so Sweetly die-cut, White Label me Fancy punch, Olive ribbon
