A striking technique with the Naturally Gilded specialty paper; with video & free project sheet!

I shared how to make this card on last week's video. It features the Naturally Gilded designer paper seen here.  

Direct to Paper resist Save

This pretty paper has a white background and Silver, Gold or Copper foil patterns. You can see it in the Online Exclusives while supplies last. 

NATURALLY GILDED 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 CM) SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER Save

I decided to do a direct to paper resist technique and change the White background to Black.  You can do this technique on any foil printed designer paper. The foil resists the ink so you can wipe it off once the background is saturated. 

I used a Black Memento ink pad which is water-based. You can use any water-based ink but not Stazon. Stazon ink would cover the foil patterns. 

How did I do it?  I had my paper laying face up and rubbed or tapped my Memento ink pad all over the specialty paper. Once you're done adding ink simply wipe the ink off the foil prints with a tissue or paper towel.

  • Fabulous Gone Fishing bundle swap cards

    Father's Day is coming up Sunday and the Gone Fishing bundle is perfect for the occasion.  

    I received two swap cards on the cruise and thought you'd like to see them.  First is my friend Susie Wood's card.  Her style is similar to mine and we often share cards with each other. My husband and I spent time with her and her husband Deke on the cruise; not enough but we both treasure our friendship so much!   • Marvelous Nature Ombre technique with video tutorial

    Today I'm sharing the other card I made during Tuesday's video.  Both featured the new set called Marvelous Nature.

    I used an ombre technique where I inked the solid stamped image with three inks consecutively.  The top is Pool Party, the middle is Lost Lagoon and the bottom is Pretty Peacock.

    The greeting is from the set but I did use the Stylish Shapes dies for it and popped it up on Dimensionals.

    The card base is Lost Lagoon with two strips of Pretty Peacock under the main image.  As you can see by the photo below the left card is lighter than the right one.  In the video I went over the upper part of the image one more time using the Stamparatus; mostly so I could get a more solid, complete image.

  • Pretty Marvelous Nature card with video tutorial & measurements

    I've seen a few projects with the Marvelous Nature set and was intrigued by it's reverse images. And it's nature so I ordered it.  This card was one of two I made on this week's Live video:

    I chose to use Lost Lagoon with Pretty Peacock. I also added some of the Hello, Irresistible designer paper. This pretty DSP is on sale right now too!  See it here.  

    You may also spy the shimmery strip beside the greeting.  This is our Soft Shimmer 12" X 12" paper pack seen here.  It has 5 rich colors in it.

    The Marvelous Nature stamp set (seen here) includes two beautiful images and three greetings.  I kept my card very simple to show off the pretty fern image.
