A colorful Joseph’s Coat technique with Layered Thoughts

Have you ever done the Joseph’s Coat technique? It’s one of those techniques that makes you feel like an artist.

I shared how to do it on last week’s Live video. The card I’m featuring today uses the Layering Thoughts technique with three of our newest In Colors – Strawberry Slush, Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger.

This technique involves a few steps:

sponge colors over your neutral card stock – I used White.
Tap or rub the embossing buddy over the layer.
Stamp your images using Versamark ink.
Heat emboss with Clear embossing powder and your heat tool. Let dry.
Rub a dark ink (memento black here) over the entire layer. The embossed areas will resist the water based ink.
Dab off excess ink with a tissue or paper towel. Done!

Here’s how I finished the inside. I wanted to use all of the colors I colored on the front so I used my Stampin’ Write markers on the stamp before stamping.

Pretty Marvelous Nature card with video tutorial & measurements

I've seen a few projects with the Marvelous Nature set and was intrigued by it's reverse images. And it's nature so I ordered it. This card was one of two I made on this week's Live video:

I chose to use Lost Lagoon with Pretty Peacock. I also added some of the Hello, Irresistible designer paper. This pretty DSP is on sale right now too! See it here.

You may also spy the shimmery strip beside the greeting. This is our Soft Shimmer 12" X 12" paper pack seen here. It has 5 rich colors in it.

The Marvelous Nature stamp set (seen here) includes two beautiful images and three greetings. I kept my card very simple to show off the pretty fern image.

Colorful Inked Botanicals card kit or PDF tutorial option; available now

Gorgeously Made & Delightfully Eclectic swaps

I thought I'd share a few swaps I received on the Norway incentive trip.

This first card was made by Alanna Wharf. It features the Gorgeously Made bundle seen here.

This card put me over the edge; now I have to get this bundle!

She used the Masterfully Made 12" designer paper seen here (sale price now at $10.62) and the Soft Shimmer 12" combo pack on the leaf die-cut.

Here's a close-up of this specialty paper and the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. I love the simplicity of this card; it really shows off the die-cut, pretty DSP & texture.
