2 Techniques with video; Starburst & Masking!

I made these technique cards on a Facebook Live in July and I know not everyone is on Facebook. So I'm posting it here for you too. I offer a FB Live every Tuesday at 11 am CT and one the 2nd & 4th Monday evenings at 7:30 pm CT all using current Stampin' Up! products. Join me here.

I had a request to teach the Starburst technique and came up with this easy version.

I used the unique and colorful Artistry Blooms designer paper from the Annual Catalog along with the Tasteful Touches stamp set and Artistry Blooms adhesive backed sequins. The link to the videos is below but here are the basics:

Measurements:

Card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
White CS 4" X 5 1/4"
Artistry Blooms DSP – cut 5 strips measuring 1 1/2" X 5" and then cut these in half on the diagonal. Now mix and match them to the 4" X 5 1/4" piece leaving a tiny bit of space between them.

Look at these awesome Sale-a-Bration Team Swaps

- DSP is 4" X 3"
- White is 2 1/4" X 3"
Next is a sweet card made by Karen; it's a perfect layout for quick cards that highlight your designer paper! She also used the Rings of Love designer paper; it's free in August with a $50 order. See it here.

Her colors are also Night of Navy with Mint Macaron. She colored her White seam binding ribbon Navy with a Blends marker.

- White card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored in half at 4 1/4"
- Night of Navy 3 1/4" X 4 1/4"
- Designer paper 3" X 4"
- Mint greeting strip 3 1/4" X 3/4"
Next is a pretty card made by Laura. She featured the Wonderful You Designer Paper which is part of the Wonderful You stamp set & designer paper bundle seen here. They're both free with a $100 Stampin' Up! order in August.

She used the Stylish Shapes stitched square dies to cut the flowers out of the designer paper. No stamping needed!

The Fern 3D embossing folder is so pretty with these delicate flowers.

- Mossy Meadow 5 1/2" X 2" and 5 1/2" X 1/2"

- The die-cut squares are 1 1/2"

Rings of Love Triple Panel card with video & measurements

Here's one more card I made during last week's FB Live with the free Rings of Love designer paper in our Sale-a-Bration offering.

I cut a 3 1/4" X 3" piece of the designer paper and then cut it into three 1" strips. I then layered it onto three strips of Evening Evergreen CS.

I textured the Crumb Cake layer with the Timber embossing folder – it's also a new Free Sale-a-Bration choice in August; with any $50 Stampin' Up! order.

I love how the three panels create a 'scene', making the DSP the star of the card. See the Rings of Love DSP here.

- Poppy Parade 5 ½”X 8 ½”
- White is 5 ¼” X 4”, Crumb Cake 5” X 3 ¾”
- Evergreen is 5 1/8” X 3 7/8”, DSP is 1” X 3 ¼”

Perched in a Tree Explosion card with video tutorial!

I can't stop using the Aspen dies! I absolutely love this tree die-cut!

I created this card on last week's FB Live video. You can watch it here.

For the card front, I simply added a layer of the Rings of Love DSP behind it for a soft background. You can keep it this simple or create your own background!

However I made the inside of the card extra special with an Explosion fold. These look so difficult to do but honestly they're not! Please watch the video; afterwards you'll want to make one!

The left card has the Rings of Love DSP and the card on the right features the Storybook Gnomes designer paper. For greetings I used the Soft Seedlings & Perched in a Tree stamp sets.
