Surprising Botanical Layers bundle includes a stamp set & vellum!

Happy Memorial Day

Today we remember those we've lost and whole heartedly thank those who've served our nation.

 ~~~
I played with the new Botanical Layers bundle for last week's Facebook Live.  This unique bundle includes a stamp set and a pack of 60 sheets of printed & plain vellum and can be seen here.
Here's my favorite project:
I sponged colors of Bermuda Bay, Parakeet Party & Tahitian Tide onto one side of the vellum before adhering it to a layer of White CS.  I added a die-cut from the Tropical Layer dies seen here (50% off right now!) and a greeting die-cut.
I created a few more projects in the video with other techniques you may want to see.  Click here to watch it.
  • Bamboo Beauty & the Ink Swipe Technique
    I created this striking card for a swap I participated in with some of my Demonstrator leader friends.  I wanted to highlight the beautiful Bamboo Beauty stamp set.
    I decided to create a bold background effect by swiping ink pads directly across my Basic White CS.  Each one turned out totally different!
    I chose to use these colors from top to bottom – Pale Papaya, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo & Calypso Coral. Depending on how well inked your pads are you can get a variety of hues.  After I swiped the darker colors I used the Pale Papaya over it all to blend and soften the colors together.
    My measurements for this card are as follows:
    • So Saffron card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
    • White (before swiping) 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
    • Black 3 5/8" X 4 7/8"
    I hope you try this technique; it's so fun!  I shared this technique using glossy paper in a video a few years ago.  Here's a link to it.
  • Watercolor Shapes Fun Fold cards – FB Live Replay video
    On my weekly FB Live I shared many ideas for the Watercolor Shapes stamp set.  The cards below are just one of the three card versions I shared.  Scroll down to catch the video.  Or click here to see it.
    I offer frequent Creative Card Challenges for my Flowerbug's Team and this is the one we're currently working on:
    Here's a closer view one card. I love how the solid images stamp with multiple hues of color without any effort!  It may look like my ink pad wasn't inked enough but this is on purpose. These Distinctive stamps are wonderful and provide a lot of dimension effortlessly!
    Which do you prefer?  Pale Papaya or Fresh Freesia?
    There are so many possibilities with this set; I just scratched the surface! Click here to see it in my store.
