Quick cards for Men using paper strips!

I thought paper strips were a perfect way to create cards for men.  So I chose some 1/2" strips of blues and greens and adhered them to a piece of White 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card stock at an angle.

Add them at an angle, graduating colors as you go if you wish.  Once you're added strips trim off the excess on the edges.

Next I used the retiring Well Written 'birthday' dies seen here and cut it out of the stripes piece.  I wanted the greeting to reflect the same colors in the background.  So easy!

I adhered it to the Tasteful Labels die-cut with Multipurpose Glue. I stamped 'Happy' from the coordinating stamp set Well Said seen here and fussy cut it to add to the card.

Next is another card with the exact same colors but totally different.  I adhered 1/2" strips to the edge of a White card base.  I didn't worry about the outer edge until I was done; trimming it off afterwards.  I focused on the left edge being even.

I added a skinny 1/8" strip of Night of Navy to cover up any unevenness on my left edge.  A length of Navy twine wrapped around and into a bow finishes it off.

The 'you' is from the Well Written dies and the 'make me smile' is rom the Well Said stamp set (heat embossed in White) on a Navy Tailored Tag punch.

  • Crane of Fortune Split Diagonal card with video; a great way to show off your Designer Paper

I love this card layout!  It is an easy way to show off a peak of your pretty designer paper!  I'm calling it a Diagonal Split card.

I created this during a Facebook Live on Tuesday.  Every week at 11 am CT I share a few projects to inspire YOU to stamp.  Follow me here on Facebook.  Click here to watch the video; there are three projects!

The card base is Gray Granite with white & gold accents.  I used the Crane of Fortune bundle seen here.  This bundle is NOT coming back in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog; it will retire at the end of June.

Here are the measurements so you can try your hand at this card layout.

I love the gorgeous dies in this bundle.  You can see it here.

  • This quick Fun Fold design makes the most of your double-sides Designer Paper!

Have you ever made a card that surprised you with how easy it was and amazed you with it's simple beauty?  This beautiful card did that for me:

I chose the Symbols of Fortune suite which includes the Crane of Fortune stamp set and the Symbols of Fortune specialty DSP that is on sale right now at 50% off!

Other products include the Hippo & Friend dies (retired now), the Layering Circles dies and the 1/4" white seam binding ribbon.

    Here are the simple measurements:

    • Black card base 5 1/2" X 5 1/4" scored at 1" on the 5 1/4" side
    • DSP 3/4" X 5 1/4" strip & 4" X 5 1/4" for the front flap
    • White inside is 4" X 5 1/4"

See how it shows off the other side of your Designer Paper?  I love it!  Think how many pretty cards you could make with this layout and use up your designer paper too!

See the Symbols of Fortune suite here; it will retire when the list comes out at the end of May.

Here's another version with the new Hues of Happiness designer paper and the Happiness Abounds stamp set.

My card base is Granny Apple Green and the greeting is stamped twice; once on the Label Me Lovely punched piece and again on a strip of Melon Mambo CS.

This paper is so gorgeous I decided to feature it for one of my Card kits to go this month.  See the PDF tutorial option here. This fun fold card is included in the tutorial!

  • New Product Sneak Peak; the incredible Sun Prints suite!

Today I'm sharing a pretty card made with two new In Colors, a new stamp & die bundle, embossing folder, ribbon and Designer Paper!  Whew!

The new In Color I used here is called Orchid Oasis.  The greeting and one fern image are stamped with another new In Color called Starry Night.  They coordinate beautifully!

This card is a sketch my Flowerbug's Team is currently creating with.  We have bi-monthly challenges of sketches or color combos with prize patrol.  I thought this sketch would work well with some of our brand new product.

The Nature's Prints stamp set comes with beautiful ferns, leaves, a flower, an ink splat and gorgeous mixed font greetings. It will be super popular!  In fact I may feature the Sun Prints Designer Paper in a card kit to go in May; I love it so much!

It's hard to see the fern background on the White layer here.  I sponged a bit of Orchid Oasis ink onto the textured fern CS.  I wrapped the new 1/8" Orchid Oasis metallic trim around it and added a bow on the right; just like the sketch above.  The white embellishments are the Classic Matte dots in the current Jan-June mini catalog.

You can see a peak of the pretty Sun Prints Designer Paper in the background.  It is filled with botanical prints in Navy, Pacific Point, Starry Sky & Gray Granite.  I'll share more projects featuring this suite next week.

One of our favorite perks of being a Demonstrator is getting to see AND order new products early. Did you know you can get these new products early?
