Life is Beautiful Halloween card; masking & bats galore!

Fall is in the air around here in North Dakota.  Each week it's getting cooler, the leaves are changing and it's getting dark so early! That means Halloween is coming soon!

I was creating squares for a Halloween framed sampler for a Team swap (see this post) and had an extra one. So I decided to create a card with it.   

Halloween Magit in the Night Save

To make the square I first stamped the tree image from Life is Beautiful onto a 2 3/4" piece of White CS using Smoky Slate ink.  Then I used a 1 1/2" mask over the center and sponged on Pretty Peacock ink.  Next I placed the window/mask over the sponged area and added Cajun Craze ink in the 'hole' to create the moon.   It's layered onto a 2 7/8" piece of Whisper White CS.

Other details:

  • The bats are fussy cut from the Magic in This Night Designer paper.  I did sponge the edges with Black ink. 
  • The greeting is from the Banner Year stamp set and is on a Tasteful Labels die-cut. 
  • The main card is Cajun Craze and the designer paper strip is 2" X 5 1/2"

  • Pretty Marvelous Nature card with video tutorial & measurements

    I've seen a few projects with the Marvelous Nature set and was intrigued by it's reverse images. And it's nature so I ordered it.  This card was one of two I made on this week's Live video:

    I chose to use Lost Lagoon with Pretty Peacock. I also added some of the Hello, Irresistible designer paper. This pretty DSP is on sale right now too!  See it here.  

    You may also spy the shimmery strip beside the greeting.  This is our Soft Shimmer 12" X 12" paper pack seen here.  It has 5 rich colors in it.

  • Colorful Inked Botanicals card kit or PDF tutorial option; available now

    The Inked Botanicals designer paper is a favorite of my customers so I chose it as one of my June card kits.  The color combinations and botanical prints are pretty and quite colorful too. 

    Here are the cards I came up with:

  • Gorgeously Made & Delightfully Eclectic swaps

    I thought I'd share a few swaps I received on the Norway incentive trip. 

    This first card was made by Alanna Wharf. It features the Gorgeously Made bundle seen here.

    This card put me over the edge; now I have to get this bundle!  

    She used the Masterfully Made 12" designer paper seen here (sale price now at $10.62) and the Soft Shimmer 12" combo pack on the leaf die-cut.

    Here's a close-up of this specialty paper and the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.  I love the simplicity of this card; it really shows off the die-cut, pretty DSP & texture.
