We’re making explosion pop-up cards!!

On my Stamp with Me Live I shared these cards and how easy it is to make an explosion card.  

These cards look pretty ordinary from the front but there's a surprise inside; see below:

Isn't it cool?  And it's super easy to do.  It's a 6" square of designer paper that you fold in halves with a bone folder. No measuring at all!

Here's a masculine birthday made with the Plaid Tidings designer paper and Many Mates stamp set.

These are so fun to make.  And you can add a bit more fun to the card by adding in some confetti, punched pieces or sequins to the inside.  What a surprise they'll enjoy!

Here's the video: 

Measurements to prep:

Card base 4 1/4" X 11" scored at 5 1/2"
Front – DSP: one at 1 3/4" X 4 1/4" across, banners are 1 1/2" X 5 1/2" and 1 1/2" X 4 1/2"
Greeting on a punched or die-cut circle, layered with other punches or dies.
Inside DSP is 6" square, White is 2 3/4" square.
Additional supplies:
Ink, embellishments, bone folder, dimensionals, glue
 
Products used:
Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce & Pretty Peacock CS
Classic Christmas, 'Tis the Season & Plaid Tidings DSP.
Other: Poinsettia Petals & Many Mates stamp sets, Snowflakes, Circles Collection & Poinsettia dies plus Tailored Tag & Label Me Lovely punches

  • Trio of Celebrate Sunflowers cards with video & an easy highlighting technique!

    Look at these gorgeous sunflower cards!  They were a big hit at my Card Clubs this month.  They could chose between Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Calypso Coral ink for their sunflower.

    We sponged each sunflower leaving the center without color except for a bit of Crumb Cake Blends marker.  I know it might not be realistic but I like the pop of White in the center for brightness.

    Then we used White Craft ink and Blender pens to highlight a few petals here and there on the sunflowers.  It's super easy! I created a video below so you can see how it's done.

      Whisper White 3 1/2" X 4 3/4", plus a 3 1/2" piece for sunflower

  • Triangle DSP cards with video

    If you want to make quick yet fabulous cards join me every other Monday night for Stamp with Me Live on Facebook.  It's the 2nd & 4th Monday's at 7:30 pm CT here. 

    I tend to focus on using Designer Paper but sometimes it's just a great layout or a new technique.  I share the projects & measurements on Saturdays so you can prep your supplies and stamp right along with me.
