How to use leftover pieces to create projects

I'm sure you have a few piles of extra die-cuts, greetings or stamped images leftover from other projects right?  I seem to have lots! I give bunches of these to my friend Joanne in AZ as she loves to use them to remake cards to benefit the needy.

I had a few extra Santa hat die-cuts left from this project.

It's made with the Sending Cheer bundle. I shared this diamond flap card on a video here.  Unfortunately the dies are sold out but the stamp set is hugely discounted right now; see it here. It was $24 and is now $14.40.

I had enough die-cuts and other elements left to create a few more cards; here's one:

The layout is quite similar but it's not a fun fold card. Simple but cute! I used Poppy Parade for this card base. The colorful designer paper is the Merry, Bold & Bright but it's also sold out now.  Our Last Chance sale from the Holiday catalog is really reducing our options!

Here's a different card layout using similar pieces:

I had a leftover textured layer that was perfect for the Santa element. It's the Christmas Tidings embossing folder – discounted on the Last Chance sale and seen here.

Easy-peasy and two more Christmas cards made.

  • Amazing Flowerbug Team swaps!

This week and next I'll be sharing a bunch of recent card swaps made by my talented Flowerbug's.

The first card is made by Annette with the set called From All of Us on page 93 of the annual catalog.  She used Blends markers to color the image in.

Her colors are Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight.  The card above was for last month and the one below was for July; both made by Annette.

This next card is a unique origami fold.  I shared the 'how to' and video on this post here.  I was grateful to Annette for demonstrating it at our last Team meeting.  So easy and it sure highlights the main image!

I LOVE the sign hanging on the cording!!

This card is made with the new Cinnamon Cider; one of our newest In Colors.  She stamped the background tone-on-tone and the origami piece is made using the 6 X 6" 2020-22 In Color DSP.  The stamp set is Back on Your Feet on page 92 of the Annual catalog.

Stay tuned for more fabulous swaps tomorrow!

  • Origami card fold with Flowers for Every Season with video

Here's another card I made on FB live last week using the pretty Flowers for Every Season designer paper.  It's an origami fold that creates a perfect place for your stamped image in the center.

It starts out with a 4 1/4" piece of designer series paper and you place it on a score board on the diagonal so the points are at 3" on the top and the left.  You can do this with a paper cutter too.  See here or watch the video below:

Then you score at 1" and 1 1/2".  Rotate it and do this on all sides.  Fold as shown.

The stamped White layer inside is 2 7/8" square.

Below is the video for this card and another pretty one made with the Fancy Phrases stamp set.

  • Beautiful Fancy Phrases cards with video!

I made this pretty card on Facebook Live last week.  It's cased from Marelle Taylor. It's close to a Black & White with a pop of color; a real favorite of mine.

It features the lovely Fancy Phrases stamp set.  If you like flowers and like to color you'll love it!

The scalloped die on the side is from the Painted Poppies dies.  The punches are the Label Me Fancy & Timeless Label. They layer wonderfully!

Other products: Everyday Label punch to achieve the notched corners, Blends markers in Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Daffodil Delight and the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon.

    Measurements:

    • White card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", front panel is 3" X 4" plus scraps for punch & die-cuts
    • Black is 3" X 4 5/8"

I also made a pretty Origami fold card with the Flowers for Every Season paper pack.. Here's a link to the video on Facebook or click below to watch.
