Get Designer Paper ideas from these neat Team swaps

Our latest Flowerbug's Team swap theme was to create cards without a greeting on the front.  I shared quite a few yesterday and here are three more:

First is a card made by Paula; check out the many details!

She featured the Earthen Elegance suite seen here – the Earthen Textures bundle, the Earthen Elegance designer paper and the neat Natural 1/4" wavy trim too!

Lots of details and textures here:

  1. She spattered her Vanilla textured front layer using a paint brush.
  2. She stamped one of the natural elements images on the right inside layer.
  3. She wrapped the vase (cut from the Earthen Elegance DSP) with the Natural Wavy trim and added another die-cut piece  as a second decorative element.

Measurements:

  • Card base is 6 1/2" X 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4"
  • Vanilla front 2" X 5 1/4", inside 4" X 5 1/4"
  • DSP inside 1" X 5 1/4"

Next is a special card fold made by Annette who featured the Masterfully Made designer paper:

It doesn't look like a fun fold from the front.  But it sure shows off that pretty designer paper!

Do you see the wavy die-cut trim in Pretty Peacock?  It separates the right side edge of the same DSP as the front.  She folded it back on itself so you see both sides of the DSP on the card front.  What a neat idea!

Here's the inside view.  She added the other die-cut edge as an extra detail to the inside of the card.

I believe her measurements are:

  • DSP 6" X 5 1/2", score at 1/2" and 4 3/4" (the 1/2" side is adhered to the back of the quarter size card base.
  • Card back is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2", plus a 1 1/4" X 5 1/2" strip to cut the wavy trim (Basic Border dies)

Next is a book binding fun fold card made by Candy. She featured the Sweet & Precious stamp set seen here.

Her colors include Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie and Pretty Peacock.

Measurements:

  • Card base 11" X 4 1/4" score at 4 1/4" & 5 1/2"
  • DSP 1" X 4"
  • Pretty Peacock 4" square

Details:

  • She colored the sweet animals in with her Blends markers.
  • The circle and square die-cuts are from the Stylish Shapes dies.
  • The Pretty Peacock layer is textured with the Fern 3D folder
  • The DSP on the left edge is the Glorious Gingham.

  • A few favorite craft storage tips

I thought I'd share some of my favorite ways to store my stamping products.  Some people enjoy organizing more than creating!

First is how I store my stamp sets.  In a dresser drawer.  I purchased a few dressers from IKEA many years ago and they've held up very well despite multiple moves.

Here's a photo of my craft studio.  I am very, very lucky to have such a beautiful room in our home for my business and classes.

Here's how I store my 8 1/2" X 11" card stock and paper scraps.  In front of each color of card stock I keep a cello bag for the scraps in that color. I've used this method for years and it really helps me use my scraps.

Next is how I store my 12 X 12" designer paper and scrapbook pages.

It's a shoe storage cabinet! My 12 X 12" paper fits like it was made just for it!  You can get two stacks side by side in it since it's about 30" wide.    Plus it has a divider to fit even more paper above it.  I love the way the doors hinge open.  There are three doors and it's only about a foot deep.

Lastly here's how I store my inks, markers and ribbon. These are Stampin' Up! storage and they're fully customizable to fit what you need.  Click here to see the options.

I love that it fits right on my work area for easy reach. As you can see I organize my inks in rainbow order. I'm not sure why my Blends aren't but I know my granddaughter will love to do that for me this week while she's here.
