Holiday Shaker card with video tutorial & free project sheet!

I shared these super fun shaker cards on last week's video. They were one of our November card club projects.

The colors include Pool Party, White & Real Red.  The penguin and tree were fussy cut but some of the dies in the Snowy Wonder bundle cut out the printed elements from the Snowy Scenes designer paper. The greeting die are from the Countryside Corners dies.

Below you can see how you assemble the shaker card. We used the Pool Party window layer to position the snowman die-cut on the Red card base. Then we stamped the Pool Party layer with snowflakes. Next lay your shaker elements on that as shown below.

Add the window sheet to the back of your window, then add our Adhesive Strips close to the opening; do not leave any gaps! Add a few supporting adhesive strips as well.  Then remove the paper backing from the strips and turn it over and add over the snowman layer matching the window with the snowman die-cut. Press down well to get a good seal.  Shake!

My shaker bits include retired loose sequins and the White Loose Snowflakes available here.  We added a few to the front of the card as well.

The stamped elements are all from the Snowy Wonder stamp set. The snow globe dies are wonderful and match the two different designer paper snow globes wonderfully!

Click on the video below to see how it's made.  I also share a second type of shaker card that's even easier!  I hope you watch and follow me on both YouTube and my Facebook page.

  • Neat Fun Fold – Diagonal ‘Faux’ Pocket card!

I made this unique fun-fold card on Monday night's FB Live.  It was Stamp with Me night; the 2nd & 4th Monday's of each month here on my FB page.  You can see all of my videos here on my YouTube channel.

Isn't it pretty?!  This paper is called Blackberry Beauty and it's filled with Gold accents on each sheet.  You can see it here.  It's also featured in my August card kit to go here and PDF tutorial here.

The greetings are from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set in the Annual catalog; one of my favorites for greetings.  See it here. The printed die-cuts are from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack seen here.

The card below is the same fold; but made with the gorgeous Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Paper.  These colors are Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, White and gold accents.

Below are the measurements for you.  I highly recommend you watch the video below; it will make it much easier to make.

And here is the video; I hope you watch it.  You will love making these unique cards!

  • Delicate Dahlias with Poppin’ Pastels technique

This weekend I'm holding a technique class and this is one of the cards we're making.  It features our new Soft Pastels and the Poppin' Pastel technique.

The stamps are from the Delicate Dahlias set that is currently free with a $100 order.  It's a beautiful 2-step, photopolymer set that's also Dystinktive.  This means it gives multiple hues of color with one inking; a process Stampin' Up! has created.

The outline images are stamped with Black Memento ink and the inside is colored with our new Soft Pastel chalks seen on page 126 or here in my store.

Tip: scrape off a bit of the chalk and use the powder. You'll achieve brighter colors.

You need Versamark ink for the solid stamped image. Next you add the chalk to the Versamark stamped image with sponge daubers.  I daubed most of the color on but rubbed it in the center of the flower for a darker hue. The leaves are fussy cut and added separately.

    Measurements:

    • Poppy Parade 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
    • Beautifully Penned DSP seen here (free now during Sale-a-Bration) 1 7/8" X 5 1/4"
    • White 3 " X 3 1/2"; inside is 4" X 5 1/4"
    • Black 3 1/4" X 3 3/4"

  • Delicate Dahlias with a 2-toned color technique

Here's a card I made for an online swap I participated in.  I needed to use an item from the new Sale-a-Bration catalog and the Delicate Dahlias stamp set was my first choice of sets.

It has a large dahlia along with a smaller flower image as well. And both are 2-step stamps with outline and solid, dystinktive images to match.  It also has two sets of leaves and 4 wonderful greetings as well!

The triple-rectangles frame is a die-cut called Picture This dies.  You get 2 dies in the set; a set of rectangles and one of circles.  What I love most about these dies is that you can use both; the small stitched pieces OR the large frame!  See it here in the online store.

Can you see the multiple hues of colors on these flowers? I inked the large solid dahlia in Pale Papaya ink first.  Then with a sponge dauber I added Calypso Coral ink on the outside and the center.  Then huff and stamp.  Clean between each inking. The small flowers are stamped in Calypso Coral ink and fussy cut.
