Control Freak’s Blog Hop; Favorite Colors theme!

Welcome to the January Blog Hop from our talented Control Freaks group! Our theme this month is to use our favorite Stampin' Up! color and make it monochromatic!

If you just stopped in from Wendy's blog I'm sure you enjoyed her projects. She is super creative!

I haven't joined a blog hop in awhile and I've missed it! This color theme was perfect for me as my Flowerbug's Team swapped monochromatic cards last week. I've been sharing them here all week long.

My first card features a new stamp set called Crane of Fortune.

I chose to feature Misty Moonlight with Night of Navy & White. The Crane of Fortune stamp set is new in our Stampin' Up! January-June catalog. It's a Distinktive stamp set which means you get multiple hues of color with one inking. These are my favorite type of stamps. Look how pretty the images are in one color and so easy too!

After I stamped the crane I textured it with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

This card is a very simple fun fold. Here are the measurements:

Score your 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
Misty Moonlight layer 1 7/8" X 5 1/4"
White layers are 3 1/4" X 4 1/2"
Navy layer is 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"

I stamped some of the dragonflies on the front layer of Misty Moonlight. I used White Craft ink for a soft, subtle effect. As you can see I made quite a few of them for our Team swap!

Next is a pretty card in Soft Succulent & White.

I used the new Artfully Layered stamp set along with the Stitched Rectangle dies. This technique is called Triple Time Stamping.

To achieve this layered effect I stamped all three of the White layers at the same time. Then you adhere each piece to a Soft Succulent layer and put the pieces back together; almost like a puzzle. It's a great way to create quick, eye catching cards.

Measurements:

Soft Succulent – 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card base, 4 1/8" X 2 7/8" & 3" X 1 5/8"
White – 5 1/4" X 4", 4" X 2 5/8" & 2 3/4" X 1 3/8"

Favored Flowers SAB fun fold card with video

I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas weekend. We sure did. It was crazy busy trying to fit all of our annual activities into three days. But we did it! I sure love having my kids home for the holidays; we all look forward to it!

We have a few traditions; one is an appetizer show down. Each one of us makes an appetizer for Christmas eve and we vote on them. We vote on taste AND presentation. This year my granddaughter won with her Pizza Monkey Bread with marinara dipping sauce. I came in second with Spanakopita.

The other fun thing we do is play Minute to Win It games. We had a golf putting game, build the tallest snowman with marshmallows, Corn Hole, name the items in the stocking, moving mini marshmallows from one bow to another with a straw, filling a bowl with bows using a spatula blindfolded. It's always a blast. Funny story…. I always buy random presents for winners but totally forgot this year. And I won! Sheesh!

I shared this pretty card on last week's Facebook Live. I'm not sure what this fold is called though!

The center panel lifts up. It's 3 1/4" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". The center DSP is 3" X 4" and so is the inside white panel.

The flowers on the front White oval are fussy cut from the designer paper. This beautiful paper is free with a $50 order starting January 5th during Sale-a-Bration.

I used Blackberry Bliss card stock since it matches the designer paper so well.
- Card base 5 ½” X 4 1/4", 3 ¼” X 8 ½” scored at 4 1/4"
- White inside & DSP 3" X 4", DSP side pieces are 1" X 4" and 1 1/4" X 4"

The greeting is from another Beautifully Happy stamp set; also a free choice during Sale-a-Bration. It's a big 17 piece Photopolymer set that's free with a $100 order from January 5th – February 28th.

Santa Suit candy bar pull-up treat with measurements

I shared this cute candy bar treat on my Tuesday FB Live video this week. Need a last minute treat or stocking stuffer??

When you pull the ribbon it brings the candy bar out of the 'suit'. So fun! And quite easy to make too. It fits a standard full size Hershey candy bar but would likely work for others too.

Measurements:
- Real Red 6” square scored on one side at 1 ½”, 1 ¾”, 4 ¼” & 4 ½”
- Black strip ¾” X 6” scored same as above, Black 1/2" 'buttons'
- White glimmer ¾” X 6”
- Silver buckle is from the Potted Succulents dies
The greeting is from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set. I used the Tailor Made Tags for my White greeting tag.

Snowflake Vellum fun fold card with video

We made this pretty card at my December Card Clubs. I thought snowflakes would be perfect for many occasions coming up.

I used the Snowflake 12" specialty vellum that 'was' in our Holiday catalog. They ran out of stock in early December. And the Wonderful Snowflakes (large white snowflake) was discounted on the Last Chance list but they've run out now too! This time of year is so difficult to plan for.

But they loved the card and thought the fold was fun too.

Details:
- The back of the card is simply a quarter sheet of Starry Sky card stock – 5 1/2" X 4 1/4".
- The fold is 3 1/4" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".
- The large piece of vellum and the white inside are 3" X 4". The side pieces of vellum are about 1 1/2" X 4".
- I used the Joyful Flurry stamp set (retiring) & dies for the inside of the left card. The Frosted Flurry dies are now out of stock. The birthday greeting on the right is from the Celebrating You stamp set (annual catalog)
- The Starry Sky stitched circle is 3" around; a die-cut from the Stylish Shapes dies seen here. They are also out of stock right now! Sheesh! I picked popular items for this card, didn't I?
