Center pop-out Fun fold card with video & free project sheet

This fun fold card I’m sharing today is super fun to open and to make.  It looks like a normal card from this photo:

But look how it opens!  The center pops out for a nice surprise.

My colors include Cajun Craze, Early Espresso & Basic Beige.  The designer paper is from the Gathering Together pack seen here.

This designer paper is part of our Online Exclusives.  To see all of these new items click here.  Or download & save the Download Online Exclusives flyer

I used the Branching Out stamp set for the greeting and the fabulous new Traditional Labels dies seen here.

In the photo below you can see the scored bridge strip that pops out the center.  To understand how to assemble this card please watch the video below.  It will make sense then!

  • Playful Ghosts card swaps; check them out!

    Here are a few more Halloween card swaps, most featuring the Playful Ghosts stamp set.

    Joan made this cute card with bright fall colors.

    Her colors include Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler. She added tons of leaves from the Changing Leaves dies. The embossing folder is the Leaf Fall 3D seen here.

    Check out the Playful Ghosts stamp set here.  It's filled with cute & playful images.

    She offered a 2nd option of a fall themed card for us at the shoebox swap.

    The greeting is from the Autumn Expressions stamp set.  I love how she created two themes using the same colors & layout!

    Lastly today is Rita's cute card also featuring the Playful Ghosts set.

    She stamped the images in Black and colored in with Blends markers. The circle die-cut is from the Spotlight on Nature dies seen here.

    I'll share more fall themed card swaps next week.  Have a great weekend!

  • Check out these CUTE Potions & Spells Halloween card swaps

    Last weekend we held our monthly Flowerbug's Team swap – our theme was Fall or Halloween cards.

    Today's first card is made by Ginny who chose the Potions & Spells bundle.

    Such an adorable card!  She cased it from Julie Gilson.  I love the colors of Granny Apple Green, Black, gray, Peach Pie with bits of purple & yellow.

    Check out this cute bundle here.

    The White background is stamped with a few small images, then ink is added lightly with a Blending Brush before it's textured.  The cat, broom and stack of books are adorable!

    Next is a fun card made by Robin who used this same bundle. She also added a ghost from the Playful Ghosts stamp set.

    She's a master at sponging her backgrounds. I sure love her color scheme of purple, green & black.

    Next is Candy's striking card also using the Potions & Spells bundle.

    She used the bubbles image to make her own background. The oozing slime and bubble die-cuts are the Old Olive glimmer paper.  I love the White Deckled Circle die-cut behind the cauldron. It looks like a moon.

    Here's the inside of her cute book-binding card:

    More swaps coming tomorrow!

  • Changing Leaves Dutch Door card with free project sheet & video

    It's free shipping today!  Plus my annual Mystery Box sale!

    ~~~
    Are you drawn to monochromatic cards like me?  Today's project is entirely green tones.  It's a card we made at Club in August and it features the beautiful Changing Leaves bundle.
    The colors include Old Olive, Mossy Meadow & White. I chose the very special Changing Leaves bundle for this because of the neat textures you can achieve with the 3D embossing folder that matches the large leaves die.
    This bundle has been out of stock for quite a few weeks but should return around September 23rd. See it here.
    The White rectangle is from the Deckled Rectangle dies seen here.
    It's a Dutch Door card fold where the side opens up and brings the center layers with it. This long piece is 11" X 2 1/4" and is scored at 5 1/2". It's attached to the bottom of the 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" card base.  Check out the free project sheet for it. Click on the following link to print or save it: Download August 24 Changing Leaves dutch door card
    I shared this card and another very special fun fold card on the following video.  Be sure to follow me here on my YouTube channel; I share lots of fun folds and techniques every week!
