Here's the description of this month's kit:

With the Batter Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit, it’s your turn to go to bat for all the people who’ve gone to bat for you. This month’s timeless kit with a “throwback” theme contains enough grand slam supplies to create nine cards—and coordinating envelopes—featuring classic colors, pinwheel and pinstripe patterns, and vintage-washed paper pieces. There’s no “batter” way to root, root, root for your home team and honor the all-stars in your life!

A beloved baseball-themed kit would be incomplete without the sport’s signature, sticky snack—the official bubble gum of the MLB! A favorite in the field, the Batter Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit contains a couple sticks of the chewy staple; chew while you craft, slide a piece into a card, or save it for later.

What is Paper Pumpkin?  Here's a brief synopsis:

Paper Pumpkin is our monthly One-Stop Box™ that offers a unique variety of paper projects for subscribers of any skill level to enjoy! These thoughtfully-themed and all-inclusive craft kits encourage Stampin’ Up! customers to explore their creativity, try new techniques, and discover their potential in papercrafting.

My Team held a swap featuring Designer Paper and this is the card I created for it.

I loved the 'Inked Folder' technique so much I wanted to feature it on my card.  You can see how it's done in the video here.  And more examples featuring this Pretty Flowers embossing folder here.

This embossing folder is a free gift to anyone who places an online order over $50 in June. *See it here.

I took the easy way out when I stamped my greetings.  Here are the steps for perfect stamping using the Stamparatus:

    1. I die-cut a bunch of the White labels (from the Hippo & Friends dies) first.
    2. Then I placed the frame left over from die-cutting on my Stamparatus.
    3. Lay your clean stamp on the label, positioning it in place.
    4. Close the clear plate to 'grab' the stamp.
    5. Ink the stamp and close the plate to stamp.
    6. Repeat!

The Black & White striped Designer Paper is from the Pattern Party host pack seen here.  It's free with Hostess Rewards.  How do you get host rewards?  If your order is over $150 you earn free product and can choose from anything in the catalog including the items on pages 170-171 which are marked down just for host rewards!

  • Biggest Wish in a Beautiful Color Combination

Here's a pretty card with a soft & soothing color combination made for an online swap.

The colors include our new Fresh Freesia with Pool Party.  What do you think of it?

I featured quite a few new products on this simple card.  Here's the list:

    1. Biggest Wishes stamp set seen here.
    2. Iconic Dies for the feathers; seen here.
    3. Hello & Thanks embossing folders seen here.
    4. Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack seen here.

The polka dot paper is from the Pattern Party host paper pack on page 171 of your catalog.  It's can only be earned with host benefits.  It's just one of the choices in the Host Rewards but my favorite by far.  It's 48 big sheets of 12 X 12" Designer Paper.  One side is colors & patterns and the other is Black & White.

The greeting label is from the Stitched So Sweetly dies seen here.  I colored our white Pearl jewels to match with the Fresh Freesia Blends marker.

  • Bamboo Beauty & the Ink Swipe Technique

I created this striking card for a swap I participated in with some of my Demonstrator leader friends.  I wanted to highlight the beautiful Bamboo Beauty stamp set.

I decided to create a bold background effect by swiping ink pads directly across my Basic White CS.  Each one turned out totally different!

I chose to use these colors from top to bottom – Pale Papaya, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo & Calypso Coral. Depending on how well inked your pads are you can get a variety of hues.  After I swiped the darker colors I used the Pale Papaya over it all to blend and soften the colors together.

My measurements for this card are as follows:

    • So Saffron card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
    • White (before swiping) 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
    • Black 3 5/8" X 4 7/8"

I hope you try this technique; it's so fun!  I shared this technique using glossy paper in a video a few years ago.  Here's a link to it.
