On last week's Live video I featured the Fragrant Forest stamp set. Trees are one of my 'go to' choices for card making; I like most botanical images though. I find them comforting and versatile and this large background stamp is truly beautiful.

I kept my colors to White & Pretty Peacock. If you ever struggle with color combos try just one with White or Vanilla; they're usually quite beautiful.

Dies used here include the Countryside Corner dies (2023-24 annual catalog) & Forever Forest dies (2023 Holiday catalog) for the die-cut mountains on the bottom of the card . The greeting die-cut is from the Stylish Shapes dies; a definite must have! See the Fragrant Forest stamp set here.

Here's the inside view:

You might wonder just how I achieved the bottom half of this stamp on the inside of the card. Watch the video here.

I cut my stamp apart!

Cutting your stamps can make them so much more versatile!  And they fit right back together on your block if you do want to use the entire stamp.  Try it!

  • Bamboo Beauty & the Ink Swipe Technique

I created this striking card for a swap I participated in with some of my Demonstrator leader friends.  I wanted to highlight the beautiful Bamboo Beauty stamp set.

I decided to create a bold background effect by swiping ink pads directly across my Basic White CS.  Each one turned out totally different!

I chose to use these colors from top to bottom – Pale Papaya, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo & Calypso Coral. Depending on how well inked your pads are you can get a variety of hues.  After I swiped the darker colors I used the Pale Papaya over it all to blend and soften the colors together.

My measurements for this card are as follows:

    • So Saffron card base 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" & 4 1/4"
    • White (before swiping) 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"
    • Black 3 5/8" X 4 7/8"

I hope you try this technique; it's so fun!  I shared this technique using glossy paper in a video a few years ago.  Here's a link to it.

  • Watercolor Shapes Fun Fold cards – FB Live Replay video

On my weekly FB Live I shared many ideas for the Watercolor Shapes stamp set.  The cards below are just one of the three card versions I shared.  Scroll down to catch the video.  Or click here to see it.

I offer frequent Creative Card Challenges for my Flowerbug's Team and this is the one we're currently working on:

Here's a closer view one card. I love how the solid images stamp with multiple hues of color without any effort!  It may look like my ink pad wasn't inked enough but this is on purpose. These Distinctive stamps are wonderful and provide a lot of dimension effortlessly!

Which do you prefer?  Pale Papaya or Fresh Freesia?

There are so many possibilities with this set; I just scratched the surface! Click here to see it in my store.
