Striking card swaps; Black & White with a ‘Pop’ of color

Our Flowerbug's Team swap theme in March was to make a Black & White card with a pop of color. I'm proud to share the cards my talented gals made in today's post.

First is Candy's card featuring Melon Mambo as her pop of color.

Details:

She used the Happiest of Birthdays (retiring) & Dragonfly Dreams stamp sets
Lots of Stitched Rectangle die-cuts!
Black CS is 5 1/4" X 4"
DSP is 5" X 2 1/4" Pattern Party host paper in the Annual Catalog (retiring!)
White 3/4" frayed ribbon from the Jan-June catalog
Her dragonfly is punched using the Dragonflies punch (in a bundle now at 10% off)

Next is Karen's card featuring Granny Apple Green.

Details:

She used the Scalloped Contour and Artistic dies
She offset the same size Black & White scalloped die-cut!
the ribbon is gingham; it carried over from the Holiday catalog
Her DSP is 4" X 5 1/4" & is also the Pattern Party host paper – retiring now!
the bling is Iridescent Rhinestone gems

Next is Karen G's card featuring Polished Pink:

Details:

Butterfly dies are from the Brilliant Wing dies in the Annual Catalog
DSP is 3 3/4" X 5" and is Pattern Party host paper
Black CS is 4" X 5 1/4" & aa 3/4" X 4" strip, White strip is 1/2" X 3 3/4" strip, Circle is 2 3/8"

Next is Paula's striking card with Real Red & Granny Apple Green.

Details:

She used the Medium daisy punch with Real Red CS & Vellum layering designs
The designer paper is also Pattern Party host paper!
She cut the Black & DSP paper into those points using the Basic Borders dies
The double oval punch was used for her greeting layers, sprig & Medium Daisy punch too.

Get inspired by a sketch with this sweet Splash of Sparkles card

Each month I give my Flowerbug’s a creative challenge and they can participate if they’d like. This month it was a sketch:

You can find card sketches like this all over Pinterest or other online sites. I think they’re a wonderful and easy way to create a card. Remember that sketches are a starting point; they don’t have to be exact or even that similar. They’re a great way to be inspired.

I chose the Splash of Sparkles specialty designer paper for mine. See it here.

My colors include Bubble Bath, Timid Tiger, Gold & White; all inspired by the beautiful designer paper. Who would have thought to combine these colors together? But the DSP is the magic that makes it work.

I used a few different products here:
- The greeting and die-cut are from the Lovely Arrangements bundle.
- notice the new daisy embossing folder? That is the new Lazy Daisy 3D embossing folder found here. It is currently out of stock, but add your email on the product page to be informed when it’s back.
- And that pretty Bubble Bath 1/8″ ribbon is wonderful and easy to work with. See it here.
- The gold foil layer is the Textured Metallic paper seen here.

Another version of the Triple Flap fun fold card with Easter Joy DSP

Today I’m sharing Jacki’s amazing card swap from our Team’s February swap.

She used Pretty in Pink with Crumb Cake and the Easter Joy Specialty designer paper. The fun dies in Crumb Cake are from the Swirled Designs bundle seen here.

Gorgeous Triple Fold card with Garden Poetry with video & free project sheet

I shared this stunning card on last week’s Live video. It features a few of my favorite products..

I chose to feature my favorite new designer paper – Garden Poetry seen here. Aren’t the patterns and watercolor backgrounds beautiful?

This is Poppy Parade, Black & White.
The other items I used are the Nature’s Symphony bundle, the Perennial Postage and Springtime Scenes dies (flower).

The front left flap opens like this:

Then you open the right side and fold the left in and this is what you see:

I fussy cut a flower from the designer paper to add inside. The Black die-cut leaves are both from the Nature’s Symphony dies.
